Dave -- Good morning, and nice run.

Back from travel, and feeling disconnected from family and running. Only 30 miles so far this month. 11 pounds heavier. Work is eating me up, too. But I think the break has done me good -- not sure I've ever really recovered from October's race.

Anyway, enough of the pity party. I need to get myself back to you people! Baby steps.

Good morning Dave and Chances.

I am trying to decide between outside and the gym as I am not sure the air quality is all that great today. Either way it will be 5 miles.

Dave- Nice job. so when will you be back home?

Chances- I feel ya on that 11 pounds. Luckily, I am still 10 lbs lighter than this time last year, but I wish I could have maintained my 'July weight'

Kevin- Whats the first race on your agenda this year?

I think I'm gonna do a lil 3 mile trot on the TM this morning. My tempo whipped my tale yesterday. I guess partly due to the cold weather, and my extra weight, my shins were burning going HM pace. Ended 5 miles in 40 mins- (HM miles at 7:37, 7:35, 7:19)

Morning all and happy Friday!

It's a cross training day for me today; I just have to decide what I'm doing. Swim or Spin. Spin or Swim.

I couldn't make my mind up this morning so I packed for both.

Racing 20k tomorrow. It's not a target race or anything, just looking to air it out a little and get a fitness benchmark as I start more structured training for the spring next week.

Nice jobs so far today.

Nice workouts all. I have the day off (burning vacation) so did my "long" run. Finished with 13.2 miles that felt more like 130 miles, uphill into the wind. Anyway, got it done.

Nice runs this morning!

Busy morning for me. Dropped son4 off at home school co-op. Met briefly with my pastor. From there I headed to the gym where I knocked out 2500m in 60:30. Finally feeling like I'm headed in the right direction! Then off to the running store to register for tomorrow's race. Should be interesting--crushed limestone path is still snow covered, forecast is for 15mph winds, and there you double it. Certainly not going for a PR! From there I had just enough time to stop at the fabric store. I wasn't able to raise enough funding through donations for 3-Day for the Cure last year, so this year I'm going to be selling quilts and bread. This afternoon is just as busy. Need to history with son4, econ paper with son1. Turkey needs to go in the oven in just a bit. Oh, and I have home work to do, too...

Hit up the gym earlier as planned. I decided on a ride even if it wasn't the formal spin class. The spin group ride today was 30 minutes + yoga...huh? Nothing against yoga or anything, I've been trying to add it to my own routine, but sorry...when I've only got 45-60 minutes at lunch I don't want my ride time getting cut!

So I made my own spin session on a stationary bike. Got to use my cycling mix on the iPod, which is a real good one. A sampling of the playlist:

Eric Clapton - Lay Down Sally

Shop Boyz - Party Like A Rock Star

Earth Wind & Fire - Serpentine Fire

Teddybears - Punkrocker

Kraftwerk - Tour de France (yeah, that's for you RA)

Bob Marley - Lion from Zion

48 minutes total for 15.2 miles.

Afterwards, I threw in a few quick core exercises, then it was time to stretch, get a 2 minute power-shower, change and get back to the office for a meeting. Whew!
