This week seemed really long.
 
Prae - are there pics?!? At the rate I"m going there is no way I could have knit 200 sweaters in 15 hours. heh.
 
PSA for my hippy-chick sistahs:

I got a pair yesterday at Kohl's (on sale!) and they fit really well. No gapping at back of the waist. Enough thigh room. Rise is low but I won't be mooning people. Have to hem them, but that's a given.

I am up early again. I've gotten up at 5am for work most days this week, but today I did not have to. So I got up at 5am to run 5 miles.

Hey, have we done the what crazy things have you found while running? QOD lately?
 
I ask because I found a dollar bill while I was out running. It was kind of folded and smushed, but I didn't think much of that. Crammed it in the pocket of my fuel belt and came home.
 
I just now took it out to put in the collection box we have (saving for a family vacation) and it seems to have been dropped by a chef. There were some herbs in it is what I mean. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

5m last night on the TM. No issues. (rawr.) I'll probably get Saturday's 5M out of the way tonight, since Dad is in town just for the morning to pick up more stuff from the house. Oh - and core/weights are on tap. Hopefully I remember to get that in, too.
 
Diane - PFT! I almost spewed my yogurt onto my keyboard regarding your loot!
 
QoD: I've never found anything ultimately cool on a run. Once I found $6 right next to my car and thought that was pretty neat, but after I got home I realized that it very well might have been my own $6 that I recovered.

Morning all. I thought I was sitting pretty when I got to bed at 10pm last night, but I got a support call at 2am. It only took a half hour to fix, but it took me 2 hours to get back to sleep. I'm happy to say I am not on call next week! Woo-hoo!!

morning peeps.
 
fun fun night last night. We hit a couple of buckets of golf balls at the driving range...I was so pleased with my hitting. Last ball in the bucket though, man, I totally duffed the ball. I grabbed one of my own balls and was going to sacrifice it, but Alex was able to snag a range ball from the edge of the bays, and I hit it. MAN OH MAN, nice way to end the night!!!! I don't have a really powerful swing, but I managed about 185y, straight off the tee. <img alt="icon_thumleft.gif" id="user_yui_3_3_0_8_131376320196813" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif"> Managed to hit the berm and everything!
 
then we went and met some of my friends for drinks and food. Totally fun, although I stayed up much too late in the end.

I just heard from one of my friends (whom I was out with last night) that she is at the vet and has to put her kitty down.

Well, I ran at lunch even though today was supposed to be a rest day. Just feels like I slacked off a bit this past week and I wanted to get it done. It was only 3 miles but it felt good to do it.
 
Ok, being involved in a wedding party is a pain in the buttocks. My niece is getting married tomorrow. She asked Lena to be the flower girl. So I had to find a dress that she liked (and pay for it). Then I had to make plans to leave work early today so I can pick Lena up and take her to the rehearsal. Then we have to go to a bbq that's being put on by the groom's parents (who I don't know from Adam) who live 45 minutes from here. And I have to take Evelyn everywhere because DH is working til 11 tonight. After that we go to my sister's to visit for a bit, my dad is in town. Then tomorrow I have to take Lena to get her hair done with the rest of the girls. Then pictures. How they expect a 4 year old to stay clean and put together and happy for that long, I have no idea. And pictures are at my sister's place, next to a little brook that Lena loves to play in. Eeek. I just want to get prettied up, eat too much, drink too much, dance my butt off and pass out at the end of the night! Just fine, thanks. I guess I got over everything pretty quick. I napped a little on Tuesday after the procedure, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. Then I couldn't fall asleep Tuesday night, so that kinda screwed me up. Then throw in the fact that I had to wake up at 4:30am on Thursday to travel for work. All this together is what has made this week feel like it's taken forever...
 
Moe, btw, I'll be up in Boston next weekend with the wife and kid. My friend Dan is getting married next Saturday. It's at BU, I think the place is referred to as "The Castle". Since I'm the Best Man, I'll be pretty busy all weekend and I won't have very much time to meet up. But maybe we can swing something if you've got some free time. DW and DD will have a lot more free time than I will, though... Oh, and we've got tix to the Sox game next Sunday. It's a 1:30 start; maybe we can meet up before the game for lunch. Email me if you want to try to meet up...
 
Oh yeah, and runnning... I had a nice tempo run last night of about 7.5 miles. Something easy tonight, then something long-ish tomorrow. <a href="http://www.topofutahmarathon.com/index.php" target="_blank">The marathon in Utah</a> is four weeks away. With the wedding next weekend and the New Haven 20k the weekend after that, I guess this is my last real chance for a long run. I think my training has been somewhat lacking over the last month or two, so Utah probably won't be a great effort for me, which is unfortunate because as a downhill course, it should've been a good chance for a PR. Oh well...

the Castle is gorgeous! Lovely place for a wedding. I was married at Marsh Chapel, just around the corner from the Castle.

Fun: taking the day off work and spending most of it at the public library. Granted, I had to call in sick (I have 17+ WEEKS of sick time accrued, I can have a fake illness for once) so I could get my car checked out. The library was a closer walk than home was and I haven't been here in ages. I looked through a couple magazines, saw a discouraging headline in the Dayton newspaper (a hiring freeze by the Air Force which is one of the employers that Moonie has been applying to), looked through a book on the geology of Yosemite, and started crocheting a scarf.
 
More fun: the shop finally called after about 6 hours to say they couldn't find any leak at all. Huh. No idea what the source of the big wet spot under my car was yesterday, then. Perhaps someone parked next to me spilled something that mostly went under my car? I'm happy that I don't have a pricey repair. The guy who helped me this morning forgot to write down that I wanted an oil change and an estimate for replacing a muffler bracket (currently my muffler is being supported by wire), so now I'm waiting on that.
