my friends son is on the MG soccer team and apparently he's good. They've had scouts out there for a couple of D 2 and D3 schools but no one from a D1 school has showed up yet. Granted I don't know if D1 schools really invest in their soccer teams or if it's just basketball and football.

My poor little nephew had his football games canceled for this weekend. I'm pretty happy about it because I was going to drive to Marshfield tomorrow morning but now I can just go in October!

I've used binder clips to hold my pants so they don't get caught in my bike chain. : )

It's funny, the discussion that came out of the Russian chicken! Here's the recipe I use:

http://www.kraftcanada.com/en/recipes/russian-chicken-breasts-89925.aspx

Easy peasy. But around here, Russian dressing is a dark red dressing. No mayo or relish type of texture, not at all like Thousand Island. And Prae this calls for 6 small pieces of chicken, but I usually just use 4 pieces when I make it.

Lena has a cold and last night she was complaining about her ear being sore. I was up til after 1 AM with her. She finally fell asleep after a dose of Tylenol. This morning she said she felt better but the ear is draining, big time. Gross. I guess that's a good thing, though. It means the tubes are working. Those of you with experience with the ear tubes in your kids, how long can I expect that to last? I put the antibiotic drops in it this morning.

Oh, I should add that I don't use the oven to do that recipe, although you can. I use the slow cooker. I mix the ingredients (without cooking the chicken first) then set the crock pot on low for a few hours.

Morning folks!

So I used my credit card so much yesterday that I got a fraud warning from the bank. I think I will keep this tidbit from DH. Just kidding, he knows I went bonkers spending yesterday. Got little man some cool new furniture for his big boy room and the stroller I had been wanting but not wanting to pay so much for was on sale. So the neighbors will be peeking through windows soon, wondering what is in all the boxes getting delivered!

Prae the woot was indeed for the move East, and 2 years ain't nothing girl!!

Any good weekend plans folks?! Might head to Fort Mifflin tomorrow for Historic Soliders weekend. Weather should be nice and it will be cool to run around there and see all the re-enactments and such.

Wow did I totally oversleep today. shee-it. I woke up at the time DS and I should be leaving the house to get him to school. ACK! DD has an 8:45 ortho appt to get the last bit of braces installed. And I'm OFF of work today! I'm going to be packing for camping. The site we're on is the same one we've been on before and it's up on a hill, so we're hoping that it'll be okay. If not, Hotel Camping! But we're gong to try and be adventurous and make it work.

Greetings, everyone!

I am a bundle of energy this morning for some unknown reason. This despite coming to work and finding major issues with how one of our programs (that just got tweaked) isn't processing payments correctly. Hmph.

Russian chicken discussion: I haven't seen russian dressing in years, but I will be looking for it now, just because I'm curious. And since I'm culinarily challenged, I love crock pot foods.

Clarebear - Poor Lena, but yes - at least the tubes are working. That is excellent news.

TGIF! This week has been really draining, for no apparent reason. Maybe I'm just recovering from all the celebrations earlier in the month. Momma needs some R&R.

As you may recall, both of mine had tubes. The good news is that with the tubes, it won't last long. Before the kid would get a cold and that would spawn an ear infection and those infections could/would last 7 - 10 days. With tubs and the drops the symptoms would only be there for a day or two. Much much better. Hope she gets to feeling better quickly.

Thanks, you guys. I hope it clears up soon for her. I hate seeing the little ones sick. This is only the second cold she's had since the tubes went in (and the first one was barely anything).

Tim, how long would you use the drops?

happy weekend- its been a long, stressful week. I decided that Oct 15 will be my last day in the office-that will give me 2 weeks until baby#2 arrives (still no name). I was going to work until the 22nd,but I'm tired. Waiting for baby M to wake up so I can see if she can go to daycare today. Her fever broke last night...but we'll see. Lori- it's funny....when I ordered M's "big girl" furniture recently...it's still a crib-lol! She is no where near ready for a toddler bed. Strange to have 2 cribs in the house.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Morning, everyone. I also slept in today. I set the alarm for a walk, but I was enjoying the music so much I fell back asleep listening to it. Ooops. Today may be stressful at the office as Round 2 of tenure-related drama goes down today. (Not my tenure, thankfully) I'm going to head out soon to work at the library for a couple of hours before heading in to the office. The week's worth of drama has really exhausted me, so I'm looking forward to an early night and a prae-only weekend.

Kath, I sympathize about wanting to get stuff done. I have 4 projects in the works and one waiting not-so-patiently in the wings. I WILL get one of them done tomorrow, regardless of how much my procrastination tendencies may kick in!

((((kj))))

Hugs and kisses to all the 30s who need and/or want them!
