Momma is tired this morning. We have a showing of our house today and I was behind on most house stuff. We finished in time to go to the Irish pub and watch some basketball. Now I need to distract myself from wondering about the showing.

No big plans for the weekend but I'm glad it's here. I've been really busy all week and it'll be nice to relax and hang with the girls. I'm hoping to get out on a date with my hubby, too. Maybe a movie or supper.

So the Gators will play Butler on Saturday for a trip to the Final Four. It's a 2 vs an 8, so the Gators should certainly be favored. (I haven't seen the spread yet, but I'll guess it'll be something around 5 points). But this Butler team just knows how to win, so I won't guarantee anything...
 
And yay, Duke lost! <img alt="icon_cheers.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_cheers.gif" style="width:24px;height:24px;"> So for at least another year, the Gators will remain the last team to win back-to-back titles...
 
Ohbytheway, I heard that there's a chance tonight of us seeing something that has never happened before in the NCAA tournament. If Kentucky beats Ohio State (certainly possible, although not probable) and Richmond beats Kansas (ummm, quite unlikely, I think), then it'd be the first time ever that no #1 seeds make the Elite Eight. (Since Pitt and Duke are already out). Both Ohio State and Kansas are favorites, so it probably won't happen. But with this tournament, you just never know...

Beaker - going back to work always felt like it should be more traumatic than it was for me. I was never excited to go back to work, but I didn't dread it either. I hope it's a smooth transition for you!

Amy when I went back after Aiden it wasn't nearly as bad as I had built it up to be in my mind. But Colin is definitely more clingy and I feel like he is attached to me 24/7 (sometimes literally in his baby carriers!!) so I am a bit worried. But apparently, some of the ladies I work with planned a lunch for Monday so I can have a fun first day back! Yipee!!!!

Some days there is nothing better than Starbux. It is my reward for working 12 days in a row. That's 135 hours in 12 days. I'm wiped out!!
 
Speaking of wiped out, my first generation ipod was making this sad whirring and clicking noise this morning and when I unplugged it from the wall it gave me this little ipod picture with 2 x's for eyes and a frowny face. uh oh. Well I got it to turn on and all of my playlists are gone! So right now I have it charging and when I get home on Sunday I'm hoping that when I plug it in to the mother ship it will just load all of the play lists again and we can forget this ever happened.

Fun: I picked up my new bike yesterday evening after work. Today, I'm hopefully riding trails with my kids when they get home from school. The guy at the store asked me if I had bought a bike there before and I responded, "I haven't purchased a new bike for myself since I was a sophomore in high school."

Why does everyone hate Duke? Coach K, probably the best in the business. Sustained success.
 
I'm with Wippy on the working...today's the 12th in a row for me as well. I'll be at 91 hours at the end of the day. Hoping the baseball games are canceled tomorrow due to cold weather or my streak of work days will stretch to 20.
 
Plus if the games are canceled I can watch Miami play in the NCAA hockey tourny tomorrow, after installing the new toilet.

Yep. Replaced the wax ring Tuesday but realized the bolts on the 35 year old toilet have fused with the nut, and one of them is leaking due to the washer having disintegrated. Realized that AFTER replacing the wax ring. So tomorrow we're removing the old one and putting in a new one.

morning peeps.
 
Playing hooky this morning...not for any real reason, other than I'm worn out and decided to sleep in. Called in with a headache, said I'd be in around noon. Since it's around noon now (figuring in my drive), I guess I'll get there...eventually. I've actually been in bed every night this week by 11, and I'm not really tired right now...like I said, I'm just worn out.
 
I have registered to display a piece at DxH's new gallery, but I haven't even started it yet and I think I have to drop it off next Thurs. Sigh. I have no idea when I'm going to get it done, although I bought the materials I need for it. Nuts.

First of all, I respect Coach K and Dook. Just like I respect Derek Jeter and the Yankees. But I vehemently root against them both.
 
For me, I think it comes from two people. There was a guy I was friends with in college up in Boston who was from Durham NC. He grew up a Dook fan, and was soooooooo overly obnoxious about it, that it mdae eveyrone around him hate Dook. Then after I moved from Florida to New Jersey, my first roommate was a Dook alum. And he was the same way. So for me, that's 2 for 2 on the obnoxious scale.
 
Plus, I just seem to root against all those self-proclaimed "America's teams". Duke basketball, Notre Dame football, the Yankees, the Cowboys, the Lakers... I dislike them all. "Hate" might be a wee bit strong. But not by much...
 
And yes, I do realize that my favorite teams (Boston pro teams, UF college teams) are up there on a lot of people's lists. oh yeah. so yesterday I was bringing some boxes in the house from my car and by the time I got to the door my pants were pretty much falling down. I knew my pants have been loose for a while but I couldn't figure out why. Well I stepped on the scale and I'm down 20 pounds in the last year. No wonder my pants are falling down. I think I may need to hit the shops before I end up mooning some one.
