(((missy))) I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. It sounds, though, like my grandmother who passed in January, that he led a long and full life.

((Missy)) Wow! 94 years old and 78 years of marriage - sounds like an amazing life! I hope you find a way to say good bye if you're not able to attend the funeral.

Missy - add me to the list of those handing out condolences, yet celebrating what appears to be a most excellent life your grandfather had.

I am also excited it is Friday, although I will have to work some this weekend. Fun: it is my anniversary tomorrow! Yay!

Morning!

I was supposed to take Donna (86y/o neighbor across the street) to get blood drawn & to the grocery store this morning, but she changed her appmt or something so I'm not doing that now.

Fun: FINALLY finished knitting the never ending scarf for my niece last night, and got the ends woven in. Just need to sew on buttons for the owls' eyes and then it is completely done. Really happy (and relieved) about that.

More fun: Finishing up the rest of the s&p shakers. Even Dh was laughing at my pig, and suggested making more farm animals because his employees are all married to farmers and would buy them.

Darnit. There was something else fun and i'm having a brain fart. pffththt.

morning peeps.

Missy, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing. Much love and peace to you and your family.

Lori! vibeeeees to you!

Ok, so I actually have some fun to report: last night, I went to the Sam Adams brewery with The Guy, for the monthly open house. Not only was the guest food pairing Dancing Deer cookies (and they had full sized ones, not samples) but we donated some toys and got to sample the Utopia, straight from the cask! Really nice break from everything that's been going on this week.

Also fun, sorta: I realized when I got to work....I'm dressed like an elf. Which is just ridiculous...but it's amusing me anyway.

Hi all - had fun with the co-workers letting off some steam after work over a few brews. The brunch went well too, but most people were in a bit too much of a food coma (and perhaps a bit of holiday fever) to do much in the way of productive work-related things.

Today the weather is just icky...not severe or anything, but just icky. They say it's going to be kinda' like this through Wed. at least - bleh!

(((((Missy and family))))) It was the same way with my grandfather as well - we were glad to see him out of his suffering, but it still sucked. I'm glad he got to lead quite a full life like he has

Kris - good to hear about your niece

Lori - I know! No need to wait until Christmas for this present to open...good delivery ASAP mojo to you

Happy Fridays to you all!

Lori - here are some things that worked for my and my sisters to get things started (aside from the obvious )

Food

A Big Mac with extra sauce - worked for me with DD

A bag of M&Ms - worked for my SIL

Mexican food - helped Sis #1 who was overdue and unhappy

And when Sis #1 was trying to help things along with her second, she actually ran/walked on the treadmill. 5k!!

Or, just send your husband out for a rowdy night with the boys. As soon as he stumbles into bed at 2am, the contractions will start!

This actually happened to us. My DH went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. He had my blessing b/c it was a Friday night and I was scheduled to go in Monday morning for a C-section. He gets home at 2:30 and my contractions started at 3am. When I tried waking him up, he begged me for just one more hour. I was nervous b/c having been scheduled for surgery, I was concerned about what would happen if I went too far into labor! I called the hospital for some advice and got a very cranky nurse who informed me that they would NOT be calling in a Dr for surgery at 3am. SO I waited until 7 when the shift changed before I called again. This time I got a nurse who was horrified and told me to come in as fast as we could. I took a quick shower and was standing in the driveway waiting for DH to come out with the keys and our friendly neighbors were walking by with their dog. They stopped to chat, saying it couldn't be too much longer. And quickly realized as I had a hard time answering them b/c of the strength of the contractions, that it was NOW. It was so funny!!

Today is a stay at home day! YEAH! My grades are in and I don't have to go to work. OK, so I have to go back on Tuesday for some other business, but that is ages from now!

Lori, I'm sending lots of vibes your way! I was in your position last year at this time and I was in such pain and discomfort! What seemed to work for me was a big meal of chicken wings, Mexican dip and nachoes. : )

I'm tired today. Lena's got a cold and cough and has landed in my bed the last two nights. I put some Vicks on her chest and back last night and gave her some water, hoping that would help. She eventually fell back asleep but we were both zombies this morning. I was tempted to give her a shot of kids' Benedryl last night. I know it's for allergies, but I thought it might help with the congestion and help her sleep. But I chickened out.

The men in my building are hosting a Christmas dinner for all the women today. I'm curious to see what will be served. I've been told it'll be an entertaining time so I'm looking forward to it.

Lori- my sister swears it was the spicy chili that triggered her labor with her 1st. She had pre-term labor with her 3 DD's so her interest at that time was preventing contractions and she had to stay away from fresh pineapple. The canned stuff was fine but the fresh triggers contractions apparently.

Ok plan B is to NOT need to make a hospital trip today. About 20mins or so ago Aiden started throwing up! Poor little guy. He has never been sick other than a cold. He looks miserable. Hopefully it is just that stomach bug that was going around and he will be fine by later tonight. Always fun and games, right people?
