wow that really just was TEH SUCK. I started out with 4 miles warm up. For the first 3 miles of the GRP, I was really struggling to get to pace and not being successful.. this should feel easier. I then told myself, after 3 miles you can get some water. Well, 3 came before the water and I just had to stop. My calf started to cramp up something fierce and mentally I just needed to stop running. I stood there stretching and thinking about how far I am from home for about 3 minutes or so. I then psyched myself back up and I ran back about a mile, got water then (another break), ran 0.5, had to walk, finished 0.5 and said, F it....I'm done at 5. The last one was almost 15 seconds slower than it should be and I was just feeling rotten. I stopped and got water 2 more times. I even had to walk during the freaking cool down because I was cramping so bad. I swear I almost sweated out a couple of pints a every time I would stop, I would have to wring out my shirt. Ew. It isn't even that bad out (low 80s with mid to upper 60s for dew points). I got home, drank 12 oz of gatorade some ensure (because I was feeling sick to my stomach). I went to take a shower and weighed myself and whoops...down a full 6 lbs. In 11 miles.... not good.

So Mindi - don't envy that w/o!

Re: a couple of lbs - have you tried logging your food for a couple of days to get a real idea of what/when you are eating? I try to do this a few times a month just to check in. Especially when I run, I find it super easy to rationalize a little of this and a little of that. I come to find out that the 5 miles I was running that day was allocated to that dessert, then those chips and later on a chai latte

So, now to clean the house and work in the garden. I am sooo not looking forward to either thing....must stop and get coffee.
