I have two sets of gym duds in my bag for running at lunch and/or warm yoga at 4:30. HOWEVER, I'm tempted to leave at noon today and try and get some yardwork done before the 40 days and nights of rain starts. OK, I exaggerate - but it's supposed to rain all weekend. Boo. If it's not raining, I'm leaving and I'll figure out my workout du jour later.

I think the weather is supposed to be nice here this weekend. It was raining all week, so it's about time. Anyway, that's good, since I got the two 5ks this weekend. I suppose I'll go all out tomorrow. As my last day in the 30s Age Group, it'll probably be my last chance to compete for an AG award for a long time. Then again, I've certainly run many races where I haven't competed in the 30s. I really have no clue what this field will be like. I just think I'm more likely to compete on Saturday in my 30s than on Sunday in my 40s. Especially when Sunday is my second race day in a row. And by the way, Sunday will really be about my daughter doing her first kids' run...

I took yesterday off. Today I'll do some kind of easy run to loosen up for tomorrow, I guess...

It is wicked gorgeous here. But I did not get my butt out of bed to run as planned. I have been insanely busy at work and stressed out due to FIL's upcoming visit. Needed the sleep instead. I did to my arm weights though.

I have only run about 3 times since May 1. Need to get back at it as I am feeling a bit Pillsbury-dough-girlish. BUT, the reality with my work situation is that isn't going to really happen. Oh well. I should be able to get out both days this weekend hopefully.

I have a half day for a wedding. I need to go back to the mall and buy the dress I tried on last night and sent the picture to DH. He then responded "looks nice". I asked if it was better than the dress I already had. He didn't know. I get home after 2 hours at the freaking mall (and lots of walking and the purchase of 1 pair of shoes) and he asks me where the dress is. "I didn't get it" Insert sad expression from him "well, it was so cute". Sigh

I have some modest fitnessing to report. I hadn't run in about 6 weeks, so I packed a bag and headed to the gym after work. I ran 2 miles in 1/2 mile increments with a bit of walking in between (about 2.75 mi total run/walk).

After sitting on my butt for a bit yesterday after work while the rain and thunder moved through (see blog post), I got a 30 minute bike ride in and then headed to yoga.

Then I got up at 4:45 this morning and ran 5 miles before work. If it's clear after work, I'll get more bike time in.

Me! Nothing as cool as a HM or RTB, but it's a small 10k event. Small enough that I've age placed in the past 3 years. (Once, by the skin of my teeth, but anyway...) It's also the only course that I've broken an hour for a 10k. Hopefully tomorrow (ankle permitting) history will repeat itself. :)

Yes, I have an event tomorrow involving 13.1 miles. J and I are running together. Event strategy is once we break through the start crowd to use a run 3 min, walk 1 min ratio, adjusting for hills and water stations. Forecast isn't great for tomorrow, Js been battling an ankle issue, and I just got over a virus....but, if we go in rested and hydrated, we should be able to have an ok day. If any of the stars align, we may having a surprisingly good day. I'd be thrilled with anything under 3 hours. I don't know my bib number, but there does appear to be some online tracking http://www.geisthalf.com/index.asp

Good luck to the racers!

Three workouts for me today: second day of the leg circuits (same as Tuesday) in the morning, then after work did a pullup/pushup/situp pyramid workout: 1 pullup, 2 pushups, 3 situps x the level of the pyramid, up to four and back down so ended up doing a total of 16 pullups (most were negatives) - 32 pushups - 48 situps, rested about 10 minutes and ran an easy 5.1 miles. Felt like I was floating...best easy run I've had in a few weeks.
