I shouldn't even be starting this thread given that I have not run a single mile this week. I did do arms and abs yesterday. I am feeling much better and almost got out to run this morning. Then I saw the super snowy roads and decided to go back to sleep. I guess I have settled on the fact that this week is a wash. Terrible, no?

Morning Gang -

Uggg, Mindi. What a frustrating week for you! At least you still have like 20+ weeks til the marathon!

Mindi - that forecast is pretty much same as here. And that's why I got up at an insane hour this morning and did my long run. 13 miles w/ 8 at MP. Temps were ok. 19 degrees w/ windchill of 7. Whew. Done for the week now except for some easy miles in the blizzard and sub-zero temps if I feel like it!

Good luck to Bob in Charlotte this weekend! Anyone else racing?

Good runs and rests to all.

Very nice work Cindi! I should have done the same thing and gotten up early. The nice thing about no running this week and being sick and in bed on Tuesday is that I have gotten a TON of sleep and feel very refreshed. Usually by Friday am I am pretty much toasted.

I may jump on the TM tonight, but it is unlikely. DH has a gig, so the boys and I are going to hang out. We have some x-mas shopping to do for our big family Christmas tomorrow, but otherwise will likely snuggle up and watch a movie. I am greatly looking forward to that!!

I packed my running stuff because I am headed to my hometown tonight straight from work and thought I'd get in a run tomorrow morning up there, first since my Tgiving day race. And yeah. Forgot my shoes. I am wearing an old pair of running shoes but considering they are the ones that gave me hip issues last year, I'm not about to use them now to run. They are strictly walking shoes for me. Ah well, I guess I can go out on Sunday instead when I'll be back home. I do like to run in snow.

Mindi- my friend is driving to Ohio from Grand Marais today. She was originally going to leave tomorrow and then pushed up her trip by a day precisely because of that forecast. Hope you feel better soonest!

yeah, that's my case too. No miles yet this week. Then something freaky happened yesterday. My right knee just started aching when I was walking off the plane last night. I'm falling apart. Need to get the train back on the track. May still go for a short run today to see how it shakes out. ugh!

I tried to get a medical defferment to the marathon that I'm not running tomorrow and they were very jerkish about it and refused. So I'm just out my registration money.

Got a late start this morning. Was perusing one of my birthday gifts (Good Eats: The Early Years) so I was only able to get 3 miles done on the TM. Yep, snow last night. But at least got some miles in.

Hi all - my rescheduled ART appointment is today. Planning to go out for my first run in ages this weekend...if I can squeeze it in amongst all the Christmas-related stuff I'd like to get done with this weekend.

Mindi - hope you get to feeling better, and you have every right to be frustrated. Heck, just reading your forecast F(reezes)MAO just sitting here in my office

Yikes Timr! Was it from just out of the blue or have you been having issues there before? I've experience a few of those kind of mysterious pains myself the last month or so never to have them return.

Nice runs Cindi, Kath, Clare, KP and Maria!

Safe travels and smooth racing to you boB! And speedy vibes to anyone else who's toeing the line this weekend

Got a note from my sports ortho...no dice. They're really being dickish about the whole thing. I'm done with HTC races. They don't need anymore of my money. I thought there was a sense of understanding among runners in the running community. Guess not for them. I told them that I would make sure that our club didn't treat their members this way. whatever.

Happy Birthday, Missy and I'll repeat my FB birthday wishes for KP too. I know Missy's life changed a lot this year. What about you, Kevin, status quo or big changes since last birthday?

Poor sleep last night, so I reset the alarm and skipped the morning run. I might try to hop on the TM this evening if the kiddos cooperate.

Hey Guys!

Happy, happy birthday to Missy and Kevin!

Tim, do races normally allow for deferments? I haven't known any, to be honest. (I know Boston used to, but you still had to pay again, I believe?)

Cindi, nice MP run!

Good luck with your run, Moonie! I was downloading our Flip yesterday onto my new computer and it still had all the videos from Eugene that MJR took. It made me miss it out there and they cracked me up! I loved the one of you, Duck, boB walking to the start

Dan, do you think you'll be running in a couple of weeks? That'd be awesome!

I ran 10 easy this morning, my back is killing me something fierce. I'm guessing it's from trimming the x-mas tree, MJR usually helps more. He did do the lights, though.

I'm looking over my schedule, it should be good. I'm a tad worried about dropping my paces back down, I don't know what kind of shape I'm in, but I'll see how it plays out. I've been running plenty so the mileage (70's) doesn't worry me the least, it's just that I've been running all those miles really slow. I've got to start somewhere! He's got a lot of treadmill hill workouts in the mix, those are usually pretty fun for me and I haven't done anything like that for a few training sessions, so that'll be fun! Other than that, just surges in the LR's and a modified tempo, also a ton-o-strides.

Hey, y'all. Greetings from Charlotte! I've arrived, and have already checked into my hotel.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes. I've got a weird feeling about this race. Like I feel really ambivalent about it. I mean, I'm really not worrying at all about it. I suppose that's a good thing becuase I'm not nervous at all. I'm confident that I can cover the distance, and I don't really care about my time, so what's there to be nervous about, right? Like I say, it's a weird feeling...

There seems to be a lot to do right here near my hotel. It's almost a shame that I'm flying home right after the race tomorrow. There's a Howl At The Moon dueling piano bar in the same block as my hotel. I've been to a few of these -- Orlando, New Orleans and Chicago -- and I've always had a blast. I might have to head down there after dinner tonight. I'll probably end up staying there for many hours and drinking a ton of beer. That'll be perfect on the night before a marathon, right?

Well, now it's time to go to the expo. Then maybe I'll dress up and go for a little shake-out run around downtown. But dang, it's chilly out there...

Yes, I've got the BobCam ready. I'll keep you guys posted as the weekend goes on...
