No run today, I'm saving my energy for this tomorrow:

http://www.rumrunnersrelay.ca/

I'm doing the final leg. It's usually a lot of fun, so I'm looking forward to it. And we're hosting a water stop on Leg 3, which we'll all dress up in Hawaiian gear for. I have my coconut bra, grass skirt, leis and flowers.

Morning Gang -

Just a few miles for me today. WAY too windy to do much. 8 tomorrow and 12 Sunday. Or maybe the other way around. We'll see.

Go Tonya Go! (The 3 day starts today, right?)

Good luck tomorrow Clare!

Sorry 'bout that, Ailarie! We were both posting around the same time!

Just looking over some of the team names for the relay this weekend. I'm running with The Truro Tidal Boars (a pun on tidal bores, which happen in Truro, Nova Scotia, which is where my team is from). One that caught my eye was:

Spring Your Luff and Hold Your Spondalick

I must find out what this means...

Please post pics with the grass skirt and coconut bra!

I'll run a few miles tonight, and then a semi-long run tomorrow. (10 miles? Something like that).

One week from right now, I'll be on a plane on my way to MSP!

I may actually run today. We'll see if I can slip out of the office for an hour to get one in.

I bought some Injinji socks last night to use with my Vibrams b/c there a couple of hot spots that have developed when I run without socks and my thought that they'd eventually go away with use was wrong.

On a non-running note - my attempts to fix my email have failed - I've run anti-virus software as well as changed my password several times and it's still happening so I've simply deleted all of my contacts from my gmail account. I hope that prevents any additional emails from hitting your mailboxes. Sorry.

Good runs to all.

No worries, Coach. I've just learned to delete your email when I see it.

Now, the other day, I got an email telling me that I had a US tax refund of $324 and change and all I had to do was click on my Paypal link to get it. Mind you, I'm not US...so I didn't file a US tax return. I also don't have a Paypal account. Doh!

Bob the bra and skirt will be worn OVER my regular clothes...so, not likely as fun a pic as it could be!

Morning all! Happy to report that I had a good bridges run with my peeps Elyssa, Eissa and Daniel logging about 6.75 mi and, more importantly I've located some FIRE IN THIS BELLY OF MINE FOR FALL MARATHONING ---- holy shit, does this feel good!!! NYCM waves, corrals and bibs were released today, that's all it took. I'm in the first orange wave which means I start with the pro men and the first wave of non-pro women. This is where I've started in years past before they had the wave starts and I landed in the same corral with at least one of my regular running buddies. Gonna ride this wave into a nice LR tomorrow morning!!!

Have fun Colleen!!!

Special good luck vibes out to Tonya!!!

morning!

Yesterday's run was TEH suck. My shins are still bothering me (both of them now) and this stupid newly founded heart burn thing was killing my breath last night. That coupled with the HIGH humidity and impending downpour made the run sluggish and painful. boo On top of all this, my legs just felt like lead.

Not sure about running at all tonight

Craney - going off of what you said yesterday, I hear you on the marathonging burn out. I am enjoying a summer devoid of 20 milers and 60 mile weeks. I would like to suggest the gym B and I go to. It has helped me a bit. Amazingly I weigh about 5 lbs heavier than last year but my clothes fit better. muscles baby!

Also, your appt was yesterday with SW? how did it go?

Go go go Tonya!

Me: nuthin. I slept in and I have an awful headache. I really really really don't wan't to get sick. I am running around 12 tomorrow and jumping in a 10K on Sunday. I'm not expecting any stella times though b/c: (1) I am going out to hear DH's band on Saturday night with friends and will no doubt be out late; and (2) it is in the UW Arboretum, which is hilly and routinely kicks my @ss in 10Ks. But it should be fun!

I got a few miles in with the Vibrams this afternoon. It's remarkable how much better my feet feel with the Vibrams than they do with my ASICS. And the Injinji socks made a noticable difference too - no hot spots.

I finally gave up this morning when I discovered that last night's attempts failed. I didn't delete my contacts until about 8:30 this morning. So far, so good.

I can usually still catch a nice breeze when running over the East river bridges even when it's nasty like this but this morning, no dice. WTF? Gonna try my luck with Hudson river crossings tomorrow and see what that gets me.

Great pix yesterday.

I had my follow-up with the ortho today and he scheduled me for 3 weeks in a walking cast. I'll go in next Thursday for my plaster of paris fitting. He didn't want me to get a boot because he thought I'd be too tempted to take it on and off frequently. He's probably right!

Wow - it got cold here today. It was warm and humid yesterday/last night, but it is chilly out there now. Perfect running weather, although very windy. But I am not running today.
