DOR. As I predicted yesterday, my legs are a bit sore from PT but the great news? Things are getting better. I'm less stiff and can actually walk "my age" when getting up in the morning, even after running long!

Thor: thanks, nice tm work there!

Matt: no problems, I should know you were just goofing around, I'm the one that got out of hand.

Hobey: Sounds like good news!

Me:

AM trainer 60 minutes: Nothing hard but about 88% ftp for the hour, so faster than half iron pace

I've been swimming in an endless pool during the day, its great! It has a control where you can set the pace per 100m. Plus there is a mirror on the bottom so you can watch your stroke and it really helps you make corrections. I did several long sets at about 1:42/100m. I'd like to be around there for IM, so I'm just getting in about 10minute sets with little rest. Up to an hour. Actually I'd like to get to 1:38 for IM pace, but I've got a lot of time to work on it.

BrewDad is trying to convince me to run my LR tomorrow so I can join the "More Miles than Degrees" club. I really don't feel I need to add that title to the myriad I have now...

Tired of the swelling in my knee... it feels weird. So I'll just go swim with the special needs kids tonight.

Long swim today...

I didn't swim Wednesday, so I moved my "long" swim to today instead.

800 warmup,

then a 60 min straight swim

Unfortuantely, Ron's prediction from my Master's meet oozed over into an equipment malfunction today and I have no idea how far I went.

My lane-mate and I estimate that between the warmup and straight swim, I likely got somewhere between 4000-4300 long course meters in (about 2.5 miles).

I'm TIRED!

This was the first uninterrupted swim that I've done in preparation for the Bay Swim. I wanted to see where I stood.

Aerobically, I could have kept going for another hour.

My pace was up and down.....I'd start to feel a little sloggy and then discover a new found rhythm and the pace would pick up.

I need to start working on fueling in the middle of these swims and see what that does for me.

Dr thinks that it is bursitis since I have no pain... just swelling. RS says low volume- go see my knee doc if the pain returns.

I'm stretching and rolling and icing and drugging like a mad woman!!!!

7m run pushing one otter....the other wanted to stay home with my MIL who is visiting for the weekend. Original plan was 3m with the stroller, 2m with Bailey, 2m solo...but the little otter fell asleep so just kept going and finished up. Looking forward to a DOR tomorrow!

Quicky today. stressful night and crappy sleep. My office manager who I've been mentoring into a business manager for the last 5.5 years gave notice. so that was a great use of time. I'm sad. Happy. Pissed. Confusion. And most importantly... a bit freaked. Timing could only have been worse if she did it just a little closer to IM. It's the right thing for her, but not for me, so hence the conflict on my part. She's staying as long as we need to transition things off her. Eh, just what I needed to deal with.

Anyhoo.... 1hr PT, hurt like a m-f.

40min swim @ 2000 sets of 10x100 @ around a 1:38 which was pretty easy, then a 500 at same. Swim speed slowing coming back.

20min run. I just had no mojo, so I stopped. If I'm given 20-50min I almost always do 50min but I just didn't have it in me. Too much going on in my head.

A little sore in weird spots from last night's Strength Training tri meeting. Was kind of fun. I got to demo the calf lifts on the leg press machine. They egg'd me on and apparently I can indeed do 10sets @ 310lbs without any problem. They wanted me to go for 490 (max)... I bet I coulda....
