My fun was yesterday. I took a much needed personal day. Saw a great movie - It's Kind of a Funny Story. I also walked around a book store (one of my fav things to do) and pulled out a knitting project and started over. It just wasn't working.

Today is work... eh.

Morning! So glad it is Friday!!

T your day off sounds perfect!!! Glad you enjoyed it!

Amy glad you are feeling better

Kath the wheels are turning, might have another thing to add to my list, will let you know ASAP.

Nothing really planned for this weekend, just round 2 of the epic battle with the leaves! And hopefully some more holiday shopping. I am almsot done with kids gifts, just have my nephew left and of course no ideas from my SIL on what he wants. I won't feel bad if the adults all get gift cards this year, I have a good excuse to not brave the stores in Dec!!

Oh and might try to pop over to Philly this weekend to see some of our runners. No idea what any plans are so I might be pestering people for their whereabouts :)

I didn't get to play in yesterday's thread because of a crazy work day, but it was so nice to read all your replies this morning.

I am so thankful for my DH, that we were able to work through a rough patch together and come out so much stronger on the other side. I am a very lucky woman. My kids make me laugh daily. They are both such good kids. I am a very lucky mom. My new job responsibilities were also just what I needed to re-energize my outlook. I am now working with kids at risk - coordinating (creating) our district drop-out prevention program. I just contracted with a student who had completely given up - he wasn't coming regularly, was frustrated with his lack of progress in our Pre-GED program, was starting to become a behavior problem. We talked about some of his goals (he wants to be a welder) and I was able to pull some strings and get him a slot at the Tech center in 5 weeks. He has to have 95% attendance and complete participation and compliance. I made him a calendar so he could mark off the days until the end of 5 weeks. He came to my office yesterday with his signed contract and he said to me "I know I can do this". I told him I believed he could. I feel like maybe I can make a difference.

I have a half day of work today. We have a huge home hockey tournament this weekend. My job is to play music during the games and announce the goals/penalties. I have 7 hours of work today and again tomorrow. I was up after midnight loading my iPod with some new tunes. Go Bears!

morning all

I just got done instant messaging the song Going To The Chaple to one of my co-workers. She's getting married tomorrow and I'm super excited for her. It's my first country club wedding and I can't wait!!

I think I'm going to have to take a 1/2 day at work or something to get my christmas shopping done. Usually I'm done by now but this year I'm totally lame

I will set up the Christmas Card List so PM me your names and current addresses and I will check them against the list I have from last year!

*snort* when you posted that yesterday I was thinking, I can't wait to hear this story, thinking it was a funny interlude that landed you in the theatre.

maybe... we'll see

So Craig just sent me a picture message but his name didn't come up with the number and it said

CRANE

so I'm thinking how come Melissa has a 920 number and why does her email say CRANE instead of Melissa and really why is she emailing me her address instead of just pm-ing me on here.

So I open the picture and it's a picture of a crane...truck. A truck with a crane on the back of it. So I'm sitting here trying to figure out why some one would send me a picture of a truck with a crane on the back of it. ONLY THEN did I realise that it was Craig sending me a picture of the truck he has to drive today.

Hiya, ladies. As always, the lazy-ass guys are sleeping in, eh?

By the way, TGIF!

Kath, I love the pig in the corner of the pic.

My weekend plans: Running, raking leaves, cleaning the gutters, and finishing putting the insulation in the attic. Only a small portion of that will be fun...

Wippy would it be easier for you if people just emailed you if there was a change? My addy is the same!! Then maybe you can just compile a list of changes and shoot that around?

Why is it not time to go home yet? WHY!?

doesn't matter to me how you guys want to do it but I do need the email addresses also.

I have no idea why it's not time to go home yet, although I was suprised to see that it was 1130 already so that means the clock is at least moving forward instead of backwards like it ususally does.

A short story by Theia:

I hate everyone.

The End

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK, obviously I'm joking. I don't hate everyone. Just most people. OK, OK, joking again.
Here's a question for you. If you were upset about something, would you:
A. Call or email someone in a position of authority to explain and/or fix it?
B. Vent to family and friends?
C. Get more information before jumping to (wrong) conclusions?
D. A & C
E. CALL THE FREAKING MEDIA WITH UNFOUNDED, FALSE, AND UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMORS AND ALLEGATIONS AND MAKE MY LIFE HELL ALL WEEK??????????
Just wondering.
Keep in mind that this happened twice this week -- by two different people for two very different situations. It just baffles my mind that someone's FIRST reaction would be, "Hey! I'm going to call MSNBC/the newspaper/ABC about this!"
Currently having a bit of a battle with DH's family. Please, someone tell me if I am being unreasonable...Just found out Mark's gran has shingles. So I think it is in my best interest to NOT be around her, this includes on Thanksgiving. I am absolutely fine with staying home and not attending the family dinner, there will be plenty more chances for me to eat DH's aunt's bad cooking :) But now I am being guilt tripped and people who are not doctors and have not seen her are insisting that she is no longer contagious. Ok fine, maybe that is true but why risk it, it's only been less than 2 weeks from onset?! So I guess basically I am causing upheaval despite the fact that I already said I would stay away and she could enjoy the family. So stupid, I swear!!
Um.... Beaker, they know you're like 100 weeks pregnant, right?
Don't go. Don't. Don't let them guilt trip you. You have every right to not want to be around someone contageous, however you spell that.
Have a lovely meal at home with your mens.
Shingles isn't a communicable disease, BUT you could get chickenpox if you haven't already had it or the vaccine. My BIL had it last year at this time and the family got together anyway.
Of course, you need to do what makes you feel most comfortable, including staying home.
