Good morning all.

Well, after sleeping in two days in a row, I finally got my butt out of bed this morning and headed out into the dark and cold for 10 miles on the canal path. I was running late so I picked up the pace a little bit -- felt good...

Loopy- Looks like just about everyone around here has eased up on the running some

I ended up doing my 5 outside yesterday. My legs are actually a little sore today. I guess I'll take a rest day. No biggie. Its nice being able to say that

Dan--have a good one, just don't over do it!

loopy--thanks for doing your part to keep the earth's rotation in check. Two days with no running was certainly messing with it!

BBS--glad to see you enjoying off season.

Since yesterday was a rest day, headed to the gym this morning. And I got to SWIM IN PEACE!!! Usual 2500m.

It's official--I am going to NC the week after Christmas. If anyone is near Asheville, give me a holler! Certainly looking forward to running down there. Oh yah, and the retreat! I'm going ALL BY MYSELF!!!

Nice easy, warm run this morning. 56 degrees. I got in 4.6 miles and I tried not to stress on pace or anything. I just went out to get few miles in. I rest tomorrow and race on Sunday!

5.5 miles on the TM. Now I have my annual review. Woo-hoo! May need another 5 afterwards.

kfuller - that's a lot of crunches... I typically (LOL) do crunches on a stability ball - two sets of 50 going left-center-right then back.

FB - rest, fuel and hydrate then kick ass on Sunday!

4boysmom - Glad you got a non musak swim. So, are you sure you're not being sent to the retreat? :)

BBS - I'm sure your legs will appreciate the rest

Loopy - by faster you mean 10 miles in the it normally takes you to do 8?

Dan - hopefully the PC gremlins run away when you turn the light on. Do you get your 30 something in or just reliving your youth?

Hey all,

Another goofy day at the office that has taken a toll on my midday workout aims. I packed a bag hoping to get across the street for some phony spinning (translation: stationary bike) and figured I would do it after my 1pm meeting. Then I got called into a different meeting at 11, which ran until almost 1pm. Whew, I thought, enough time to make a small lunch, eat that at my desk during the 1pm (which was to be a phone con). So I threw a burrito in the microwave then pulled up my calendar to find out that the 1pm had actually been a noon meeting. So not only did I miss it but now my lunch was ready when I instead could have gone to the gym. Maybe I can still get away at the original planned time. If I can just get my phone to stop ringing, email to stop working, etc...

As zrun said yesterday, 5 was the number of the day...5 for me too, last night on the home TM. Just an easy recovery run, followed by 40 minutes of resistance band.

Dan - hope the half hour of something was good. Hopefully your refusal to give up in 2010 is setting you up for a great 2011.

loopy - nice 10 as always

BBS - in the 5 club as well I see

4bm - Asheville is awesome! Knowing what I know of your politics and world view from previous posts though, you may be in for some culture shock. It ain't like the rest of the state, at least not the western part of NC anyway. More like Portland except in the east. Biltmore is overrated and overpriced, avoid that. But Mellow Mushroom downtown is a mandatory stop for pizza. River Arts district is cool, too. For outdoorsy stuff, the NC Arboretum has a great network of trails. Oh and there is a greenway in town for riding & running, not to mention the Blue Ridge is just a short drive away. Runners and cyclists are everywhere in town...be ready for some hills.

FB - I think our last two days have been 56...combined. For RA and Z that's probably the past 3 days combined.

kevin - nice pushing (up) and crunching.
