I loved that post from mc yesterday. That's a great place to be. GL in your race, buddy.

That was a zippy 4 miler on the TM, Erika.

Congrats on the YTD mileage, Opie. Is that a PR?

So OM, that means the next run is gonna be mc-esque. Kewl.

Mother nature screwed with my plans today. 10F. Drat. I was all set to do my LR to work this morning, rest tomorrow, and then run a 5K, The Jingle Bell Run out of Davis Sq, Somerville on Sunday. But I aint't running in no 10F temp.

So, off I went to the gym for a 4 miler with 4 x 0.25mi intervals at 7:30. This was good, just when I was getting into it I stopped and saved the rest for tomorrow. I'll LR then and hope for the best on Sunday.

What you are guys up to today?

Morning, Mike!

What am I up to? Well aside from stuffing myself at our divisional Christmas lunch, probably not much. My legs are a bit tired from the last couple of days, so at most I might sneak down to the gym this afternoon for a little bit of core fun. Tomorrow will be a rest day, too........ we're heading over to visit friends for an afternoon of fun, cards and pizza.

Have a wonderful day, everybody!

Mike, was that on the treadmill then or an indoor track? No, a 2,000+ mile year is common for me but I'm closer to that than I thought I would be in August. What's up with me is an hour of XT with maybe lunch yoga. We have our work Christmas lunch today but it's really early so the schedule might work.

BIL had cancer surgery this morning, and I just heard he's out and recovering fine. He's a bit young to have prostate cancer (only 47) but it happens. But as I said, the report is that all is well, so we're all very thrilled. Also it's MrOM's birthday today, so after running 30 minutes nonstop on the TM this morning (a first for him in a very long while) he gets to drive down to Maryland to bring DS home from college. Actually, his company has an office down there, so it really is a good thing (aside from the 4 hour drive each way, oh well). Things work out, that's all I have to say.

Mike, I'm saving my universe-balancing run for tomorrow, I think. Went to yoga this morning and might call it a day from there. Or not. It's only 8.5 miles for me to reach 1400 today. If only this sinus headache and scratchy throat would hold off. As I said, we'll see.

Man, I could really use a Crunchie today though....

8mi ez on the treadmill, 10+ min/mi. ran 11mi in the same time yesterday, sheesh. but today was supposed to be recovery; i was limping around before that run, and now i feel great afterwards... so it was a success!

kate's holiday break started last night, so after some shopping, she's trying on all her clothes after lunch to see what fits. then we're off to flagstaff for the weekend, hopefully will see some snow... and maybe i'll run into ryan hall up there.

In perspective to what has happened to Econo this week, I have no right to complain. But I will anyway; sorry. In the last three days of work, I have had a planned audit by the State of Oregon, a surprise audit by the US EPA, and this morning I had to spend two hours in a Hazmat Level B suit cleaning up a hazardous incident in our plant that no one seems to know how it occurred. And I really needed a Level A suit since there were chlorine vapors involved. Sigh...

And to top it all off, I had to start PT again on my knee because it's all messed up. The prognosis is either a strain at the lower hamstring insertion point, or another meniscus tear. Double sigh. So if I'm not around KR much in the next month or so, it's because I'll be rehabbing again and not running. Which is sort of okay right now since I'm really not much interested in running. Except for the continuing drama of mcsolar vs. The Marathon; that's entertainment!

Labduck, pop in sometime to say hi, just don't permanently go to the dark side. You know which site I'm talking about. Hoping for the best on your knee and remember you're inspiring even when you're not running. If we're not on that site, how will we know about your progress?

{{{[labdickie}}}}} we still would like to see you here once in a while. I know it is hard to post when you can not run, but hey...you can think of it as something good you do for others. We enjoy your presence here.

McSolar, have fun this weekend. Pictures, please.

What is up with me? My morning usual 5 miler with 4x.10 miles with 47feet elevation gain hill repeat. It was icy, but the stars were out to keep me company.

Tonight: 2 miles easy on the TM plus 30' of weights at the gym. DH ran for 13' at a little faster pace than two weeks ago.

Ribs, great to hear that you are going to have a lot of family time! Enjoy it! Oh...and please take care of the ouchie. We want you healthy in Boston

I slept in a little today and felt a lot better than yesterday. Did a progression run on the treadmill upping the pace every 10 minutes. Ended up with 5.26 miles in 60:00. (11:23 pace)

12% incline 3,320 ft elevation gain. heartrate at each 10 minute intervals 137,137,142,147,152,160

Mike, you're killing me here. I'd LOVE to run in +10°F temps now! We might warm up a bit tomorrow, but most likely not till Friday. And "warm up" means -10° or so...

{{Econo and Ben}} It's just not right.

Awww Labduck. That really sucks. But please don't disappear on us.

Had our holiday potluck at work today for lunch. Did really well on the lunch stuff (I don't work with a bunch of really good cooks), but someone brought the most amazing dark chocolate cake... OMG was that good. Had two pieces. I don't usually eat desserts, but this was soooo good. So... the "maybe" RAW became an "I gotta" RAW. Unfortunately it was also after getting out of work late and doing some shopping (fridge was bare). So, headed down to the treadmill just after 7 pm and cranked out 4 uninspired but not awful miles. I really do need to find some treadmill belt lube though... Can't believe that's so hard to find in this stupid town.
