I'm glad to see the site back up. I just don't understand why people do such things.

I didn't do my planned run today - just didn't feel right. I don't want to increase too fast either. This week I'll have one mile more than last weeks total. Gradual is best.

I got my first mailing for the Martian Marathon/Half Marathon in April. Hmmm, I might. They say the tech shirt you get is really cool.

Good runs all.

Good morning.

Rest day for me -- just some cross training and stretching. "Wintery mix" forecast for tomorrow -- I'd rather run in the snow, for sure.

Have a great day.

Just checking in lest I can't later. If there is no site y'all could always check into Mirc chat tonight
I looked there a few times last night but didn't see anyone. Of course I was snoozing in my recliner by 9.

Good runs to all, be careful out there on the ice.

Good morning!

Glad to see it wasn't my old pc here that was the trouble. I had a great 10 mile run yesterday and just as I turned down my street, the first snowflakes fell. It's beautiful here with 9 inches of new snow! It makes it feel like Christmas!

I hope to get a 5 miler in today, but the kids have all kinds of stuff going on. I may jump on the "new" bike instead when we finally make it home tonight.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Good morning to all. Yesterday I had to close the library early - about 5 mins after it started snowing. By the time I got out to my car, the roads were covered and traffic was building. Usually it takes me 30 mins to drive to/from work; but it took me 55 mins to get home and I think I was ahead of most of the traffic. Good little subaru! It got me through with no skidding although my windshield wipers built up ice and I had to stop twice on the way home to clean them off. DH and the dynamic duo and I spent a couple of hours decorating the tree. We got a gorgeous one this year and cut it down ourselves last weekend.

My knee is feeling better but not good yet, so no running for me today. Tomorrow hopefully I'll take a yoga class, and if things continue to improve, I'll try some light running on Sunday.

It's going to be a battle on the roads to get to work today. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Good morning everyone!

Yesterday I enjoyed a nice 8 mile run (1:06:47, 8:21 pace) in 23F temps, little wind. Then when I tried to download it from my Garmin to TC, all hell broke loose. I lost all my history, my profile, everything. After some effort I got back some data, but then when I tried to get to this site, it started yelling at me. Not nice. I thought someone must be mad at me for "suspending" my account yesterday. (I'm always ready to take the blame - must be some residual Catholic thing...) Glad that's over.

Today, I'm "resting" with a shovel and 10" of fluffy stuff before work. I try for a long run tomorrow, 14 miles planned.

Enjoy this day, all.

Good morning all. I sure missed all my friends yesterday. Easy 4.75 this morning at conversational pace. Cartoon lifted from Pine Belt Racers webpage.

Good morning all,

What's going on with all these running forums?

Ksrunr, that just cracked me up for some reason...

A rest day for me today. We may end up getting some precipitation today

Good runs to all today.

I posted on this site yesterday and then it went cappoie! I thought maybe it was me, and then thought NA!

Since I skipped my Wednesday run, I got up today for 3.25 miles. I think my pace was a pretty steady 10:12 m/m - which I am happy with considering the road conditions around my area.

Here is something to help brighten your day today: http://weblogs.newsday.com/news/opinion/walthandelsman/blog/2007/11/animation_baby_boomers.html

Cheers!

~Mary

hello everbody,

met up with the BOMF sunday breakfast group at 5:30 this morning. we were doing a run with all 3 shelters combined and NBC, national, news was doing a segment on our group, so the camera crew was following us through cool, 32F, the foggy streets of downtown philadelphia. there was a pretty good turnout about 40 or so runners. we were doing our BOMF chant as we ran.
The main group run was 3 miles but we had to go a little over a mile to get to the meeting point so about 5.5 miles total.

I just looked out the window at work and the fog really thickened, I can't even see the building across the street let alone the ben franklin bridge.

busy weekend ahead, after work we head to my mil for dinner and a sleepover, sat a get together with old college friends, then back home, sun meeting after church and then the BOMF party . . . plus i have to fit some running in between all of the travelling. . . and we still haven't gotten a tree . . . or finished shopping.

Cfli - no cheating and editing your typos

Lab - where did you find that message from Rich?

No running for me today. It's beautiful here though with about 12" of snow!!!

I just don't understand the mindset of hackers . . . I was thinking that was the case yesterday. It's too coincidental that it occurred during the CR outage . . . .

Good runs and cross training to all!

I got a lot of things done at work yesterday -- wonder if it had to do with a lack of forums to monitor? Anyway, a workout day for me at the rec center. I had planned a long run for Sunday, but we may have 6" of snow by then so maybe not...

Good morning.
30 min core work at home.

Since C-fli is kinda new around here I was going to take the high road and not comment on his typo and then some of you meanies piled on. Too funny!

Loved Ksrunr and Hopeful's jokes today. Thanks for the laughs. That reminds me. Note to Ksrunr: Hope I don't go to H E Double Toothpicks for mooning a man of God.

Aija, that'd be me -- a cluster headache with no headache! I laughed at your run description yesterday. Becareful out there!

Hally, I popped into mirc last night but it would've been way late your time. Room was empty.

Hey Mike, Garmin has (or at least used to have) a recovery tool on their site which may get you your data back. It worked for me.

Good luck in your race, ksrunr!

Pink, to see Rich's note, go to the Master's Club and you'll see an announcement above the thread titles.

There's just a few inches of snow here, but it was enough to slow me down quite a bit.

Hi, all.

Had the most productive day of the last few months yesterday. I wonder why? Maybe my clients launched the DOS attack.

I'm flirting with the edge of a cold here and decided to bag last night's track session for a nice easy 10km. I think it was the Right Thing to Do. When you're going slowly, it's easier to observe the Christmas lights. My heart goes out to the neighbours of the people who decided to supplement their brilliant display with tinny synthesized Christmas music. I feel no sicker today. Will swim at lunchtime if the spirit moves me to do so.

I took Hamish along, with an eye to teaching him how to be a Running Dog. He heels along nicely after the initial Outburst-O-Boing, but hasn't really got this "pay attention to direction changes" thing down yet. I tripped over him a few times and went down once, fortunately onto soft lawn. (We were in the plush section of town, where lawns are groomed with nail scissors). I think that nicely balanced out the bike-skid from a few days back. He'll come along - being tripped over is self-limiting behaviour - but I miss Storm.

Sympathies to Rich for having to deal with some anonymous coward butthead out there.
