choovie, hally, pie: After watching a skeery movie last night (and remembering that choovie has recently taken up shooting), I realized that I did not ask whether any of you were predators. If you are, please forget any personal information I might have revealed on IRC.

Morning, Kicksters.

Morning, millbot. I hate to be left out. Would you mind whispering those personal details to me?

Needed rest today. Oatmeal for breakfast coming up (it's cool here) and I'll make a veg lasagna, maybe plant a few things for winter/spring harvest.

Maybe I'll make fois gras out of Labduck later. Cheeky duck.

You can trust me Millbot, whisper those little details to me too, and I will protect you from any predators here.

Morning Master Kickster Peeps

I'm so glad this week is over. I have gotten in a whopping 4 miles all week, but I'm going to the gym on my lunch, which means I should be able to double that mileage. Not a great running week at all.

on the flip side though, I'm hoping my yard sale tomorrow will be good because once we started pulling stuff down from the attic - dang! We are packrats! Lots of good stuff though, but time to minimize the things we are hanging on to.

I canned 13 jars of beans last night and still have enough beans for another 7 or 8, but 13 is all I could fit in my canner. guess I'll be doing more canning this weekend. My pantry is getting full! which is a good thing - means I won't have to buy much as far as veggies this winter.

I'm done rambling now . . . have good runs all!

(and how come I feel guilty that I logged onto Kick first, before CR this a.m.? I'm really liking this format over here now that I'm getting used to it)

Ilene - I envy your runs. I read about you running along the beach and wish I could do that. Actually, I just wish I could go running with you, no matter where it is. When can we be in a race again together? Do you ever do the San Diego R&R marathon? I'm thinking of maybe flying down for it next year.

Hello all, don't feel guilty Tamster. I think I like this place better too, and besides, it's nice to be on page one here on the left coast . 2nd rest day in a row for me, as I'm going to start my 1 day H2C Training program ™ tonight. That would be 2 AM 5 mile run, then listening to 3 hrs.of Eddie Vetter and/or Soundgarden while laying half nekkid on the living room floor, followed by 7 mile run in woods at dawn, followed by The Simpson's movie, followed by another 5 miles in the heat of the afternoon. That should do it.

I'm driving my wife into town this morning for her first day back at her office since the successful removal of herniated disc C4 and insertion of new disc and patch last week. If she's up to staying at her office for 2 hours, I'll get in a workout at the gym.

See you guys later.

No offense on the Eddie Vetter / Soundgarden, but my tastes lean toward more bluesy R & R, but I'll be in a van with a bunch of 40 something PNWer's, so when in Rome ..........

Johnny

Tamster .......... you did it !!!!!! You're now a miler

john - you can ignore my PM to you as I was just asking about your running this weekend and you just answered it. I'll be at the gym from about 11:30-1:00 - so I might see you there.

Since I lived in Seattle during the era of Soundgarten and those were my "clubbing" days - I'm still a SG fan. I might have to put some on my mp3 player.

whoohoo! I'm a miler!!

Oh, I didn't even see the PM thingy up there, there's so many bells and whistles here, it'll take an old dog like me a while to figure stuff out.

Tamalina I'll look for you at the gym if I'm there, I think I'm going to drive Stacey's yellow bug, so you probably won't see my truck.

Got any extra beans ??

John - yes, I have lots of beans! and I'll be getting more. I have to go out every other night to pick because they grow so fast. I should have thought to bring some with me today incase I saw you. But I'll bring some to work with me next Tuesday when I'm in GP and either I can meet you at the gym or you can swing by my office and get them.

Tamster, I did the Rock'n'Roll marathon in San Diego last year. It was great. You should definitely come down here and run with me. There are lots of Marathons; Orange County, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, even the Los Angeles marathon. And plenty of halfs too.

I'll keep that in mind Ilene (all the different races). I have almost enough miles for a free ticket - I might just have to buy a few thousand, but that's cheaper than buying a ticket - so thought I might head back to So Cal and combine it with a race that I otherwise wouldn't have the chance to run in. I was shooting for San Diego because I have a friend I can stay with to cut down on hotel costs. I still pretty much am just looking for half marathons, but am keeping my options open for a full, depending on how my training goes during the first half of next year. I still can't envision myself ever being able to run 26 miles though.

millbot....that's the good thing about a "masters" forum. You tell people personal info, and they forget it all by the next day.

Who are you people?

Hi -

I shortened my name . . . I like this place better so far from what I've seen. And the pages load much faster for me than CR pages!

Rest day for me today!

I have my first race since my last injury tomorrow, the New York Road Runners Club Championship 5 Miler.

I'm quite surprised by my progress. A month ago I was running most easy runs at 10:30 pace. I could not have envisaged running an 8 minute mile.

On Tuesday I ran 6.5 miles with 3 fast mile pickups. The 2 uphill miles were at 7:40 pace and the downhill mile pace was 7:10.

Wednesday I ran 7.25 easy miles at 9:30 pace (easy = HR of 127 - 140 bpm per minute)

Last night I ran 4 easy miles at 9:15 pace.

I'm taking to day off today and hoping to run sub 40 minutes tomorrow. I doubt I'll get anywhere near my 36:42 PR but we'll see.

Good runs everyone!

i ran shortened intervals yesterday, due to the heat...was going to do 8x800M
but only did 4x400M. Saw the young HS football guys just warming up on the track. I think they were impressed with my nausea and near puking...

averaged 1:18 for the quarters-and biked 15 miles to get to and from the track, thanks to extra detours.
Have a nice weekend, folks!
Welcome, Pink!
Hey, good luck, BAP. Give 'er.
Hi, Dale! Hmm, I wonder whether doctors can deal with nausea and the pukies better than the rest of us. I avoid it at all costs. Nice w/o for you in the heat. What's next on your racing calendar?

I have a question for everyone. Apologies in advance if I'm sullying up the thread.

If a person gave blood yesterday and plans to run 19 miles on Sunday, is that a good idea?
