The kids are home today, so I am taking a day off work. Miss Sunshine's run club is meeting in the park this morning. I'm going to see if I have enough strength to push both kids in the stroller for a short run before the run club meets.

4boys- you are tough to bike in those conditions.

Jill- enjoy the rest.

Jill- take it easy

Jebba- You ever check out the Chattanooga running scene? I signed up for the stump jump in Oct.

I got in 4 miles in 30 mins last night at the group run. Kinda tuff, which does not have me feeling great about tomorrow's race. Crappy weather tomorrow too. Thunderstorms and lots of wind. Great. Kinda getting burned out on 5Ks.... I'm really getting more into the trail running stuff, plus it kinda sucks running balls out for 3.1 miles and not see any improvements.

Rest day today. Oh yea, Looks like I'm off work till Tuesday night. Me and a buddy of mine are going to Hooters tonight for a lil pre race hot wing/Blue moon action.

Rain and intense lack of interest meant no morning run. Planning on a TM run later. Maybe 6 miles. The suspense is killing me. DW is now obsessed with marathon day weather... I hope I don't have to hear that all week + for 26.2 miles.

BBS - hope you get all rested for tomorrow. Dodging lightening bolts may push you under... under 20 mins that it. Maybe time to make a change to your training.

Jebba - double stroller?! THAT would be a serious workout.

Jill - I like the new avatar. Rest those legs

4boysmom - sounds like perfect weather... for doing anything but riding a bike

After a nice calm and sunny 50 degree lunchtime run yesterday, back to the low 40s rainy, windy crap this morning. A 5:30 start and faster than normal pace (finally ran with the group again) just added to the joy. Wound up with a bit over 9 miles averaging 8:00 flat.

Morning all,

Day before a race but it's not exactly an "A" race, more of a hard training run tomorrow. So I'll definitely get out for something today. Either midday or after work. Rain is in the forecast so I packed both trail shoes and my Nike Frees in case I need to take it inside. 5-6 or so, with probably some striders thrown in.

4bm - hope that ride goes OK. Sounds pretty tough.

Jill - enjoy the rest/recovery

jebba - have fun running & stroller pushing

BBS - re: 5Ks probably good to switch it up a little. I ran nothing but 5k races last summer and got stale.

RA - TM for 6, that could very well be identical to my run today.

kevin - good job on the 5 and great result for RSL down in Mexico 2 nights ago. They are in the driver's seat now.

zrun - for a second I thought, "5:30 mile to start, wow!" Nice run anyway, though.

I'm pleased to announce that I ran 6 miles on the TM. However; my Asics Gel-Bandito shoes are not feeling so good lately. They look fine since >90% of the miles are on the TM (they are the shoes I leave at work) but I'm getting increased soreness after running in them. Only 322 miles on them though. Seem too soon to switch.

zrun - nice pace on the 9'er. I just couldn't face going out plus it was nice and cozy in bed.

Hawk - quit copying my workouts! OK?! ;) Note that zrun is a closet elite runner in these parts. He just likes to keep it on the down low.

kfuller - a fine effort on that 5'er. Enjoy the rest of the day.

This makes three effortless runs in a row. Went out just planning on doing an easy pace for maybe 7 or so. Felt so good and relaxed I was through 16 before I decided that I should probably go home and get some work done. No watch so I don't know my pace, but I'd be quite surprised if it was any slower than 7:50ish.

Nice runs guys- stay dry out there.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I hit the 20,000 mile mark lifetime since I've been keeping track (started around 1995). Not that big a deal I guess, but I thought it was cool. A little under 5,00 to go til I've run around the world.

MB - wow, 20,000 that is cool. I love those runs where you just glide thru the whole thing and you have to make yourself stop. For me it usually happens when I am the only one on the trails in the woods with the pup we just just keep breezing thru like we own the land.

Hawk - good luck on the tune-up race

today will be a core workout day since early am long run.

Yes, it is cool!

I hit 10000 miles in February. I started running mid 2002 and started a log on January 31st, 2003. That first entry was a treadmill run - 3 miles in 20:29. I was practicing for my first 5k, since I was told the 20mins was a good time. My 2nd entry was February 10th so not sure if I missed entering runs back then? Hopefully I can make it to 20k before my body goes AWOL.
