Lots of good stuff happening on the board, happy to see things more active again!

@AdCo - I was still pretty sore myself yesterday. I looked funny walking up and down stairs. I'm walking normal today but I know that it will take 2 to 3 weeks for me to be fully recovered, even if I'm feeling almost normal by the end of this weekend. And yes, get out on your bike and spin. Getting blood flowing to those muscles will help in the recovery. You don't want to push too hard, the muscles need to recover from the damage you've done, but active recovery is a good idea.

@Yoshiko - can't wait to see what you do on the new bike! Rip 'er up!

@TT - glad you're staring to feel like yourself again!

@Hobey - Thanks, that made me smile. Almost as much as the Blackhawks beating the Canucks 5-0! Has the panic set into the PNW yet? And nice job on the workout, you're going to kill Eugene!

@RonBo - hope that you get buried in work, I think that's a good thing when you're a small business owner.

@Cake - Don't feel pressured to come back too soon. Okay, my coach would probably tell me the same thing. Those blisters on your toes are badges of honor from Boston!

@Otter - nice job on the run yesterday!

Okay, I had functional strength class this morning. Haven't been in about six weeks. Completely kicked my ass. I didn't go down as far into my squats and lunges as I normally do since I was still sore from Boston, but the upper body work and core work killed me too. I really need to regularly incorporate that into my training since I'm not doing it every Friday now.

Masters swim this afternoon, I'll take it easy.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Mike: Way to kick it started this morning. Happy to see the cord is still tight. And just for comparison's sake, my recovery is about the same as yours. I'm still stiff and sore but am walking far more normal now -- except after sitting in a chair, such as at work, for a few hours and then trying to get up. Otherwise the more I move the better I feel. Even on the run, takes a while but I can get to a more normal stride.

TT: Agreed with Mike... it's a good feeling... keep it going.

Otts: You too. Way to PR the course yesterday!

DOR (like I need it). Have some friends coming in from the UK today - so skipping out early to welcome them. Hopefully the weather warms up a bit for their visit. They intend to spend a few days up on Winipisaukee - much as I tried to dissuade them.... At least it's scenic.

On the plus side, I'm loaning them my car for a few days - so that might be the impetus for the first riding commute of the year.

My Thursday night ladies club rides have started again. This is my one and only social training event of my week and I'm proud of myself for getting out there last night given the weather.

It was a beautiful 38 degree evening, 25+mph wind gusts provided a cooling breeze, the snow flurries made it more picturesque, and seven of us showed up to ride. The first 10 miles we battled straight into the wind and the final 10 miles went by super quick thanks to the powerful tailwind. I normally don't ride in these conditions but we all had a blast and I managed to get my layering right so I was really comfortable. We followed up with beer and dinner at the local tavern.

Today: 30 minutes of strength training.

Now off to my parents house in CT to help them "unload" their house b/c they are moving into a condo to enjoy their retirement. This should be interesting...

Don - have fun at the race. I know it is almost the end of April.. whatup with this weather!?

Yesterday I ended up riding my Stumpy for 1hr 20min. 3 milse to the singletrack, saw my friend, and ended up riding there after him way harder than I planned. That was after 7mile run, so my legs were pretty toasted. I was extremely timid about hitting the corners.....yikes it will take several rides just to get back to the swing of things on the trail. DH asked after my return, how was your new bike? My answer was I stunk so badly and lighter/faster bike didn't make any difference. Though I was impressed how easy to ride on a flat dirt road - the bike just rolls!! The return ride to home was HARD. I just couldn't push the pedals...

Had a great morning run with DH today. Showed up at the Easter club ride/run, with an inteniton to run, only to find out the ride had been cancelled and run to start 9am. Duh. DH and I were originally planning to ride MTB so I didn't even check carefully about the run start time. So he and I ran a cross country course from there, exploring the areas we had never been. What a fun, not to worry about how far/how fast/where to go while running. Ended up running about 1hr20min.

Heading to the in-laws soon.

Happy Easter to all!

Alpaca tax returns??? Did I miss something in a previous thread???

DOR here - last long one before taper tomorrow. I am going to confess now that I'll be making a rookie mistake tomorrow...my shoes have been dead for weeks, and was finally able to get to the LRS today. I'm alternating my two new pairs of shoes all day today just walking around in hopes of breaking them in to feel good about one of them tomorrow. The old shoes are not an option - even though yesterday was a good day, my calves and shins are aching today.

The good thing is that one pair is the same as the old shoes - Saucony Pro Grid 4, so I feel confident in wearing those tomorrow. The other pair is my former shoe - Asics 2160 - which I haven't work since the "Blister Situation of 2010" when they went to the 2150's. Tried them on and they felt great, so giving them another shot.

If I whine about any foot issues tomorrow, you all have permission to give me a virtual whack to the head because I knew better. LOL!

Inspired by all the Boston Marathon peeps, and perhaps a smidge nervous about the fact that I am signed up for a marathon, I went for a wee little run today. Just an easy mile and a half at the track.
