That looks like fun Amy! I just looked at the pretty pictures, though. No details for this girl until all the coffee is gone.

I'm heading out in a few to meet up with my old running partner. It's been a year since I've seen her. Apparently, her running is kicking ass. Mine, not so much. But it will be nice to see her. That being said, I am totally ready to head back to Virginia (or, truthfully, back to Pittsburgh). The York section of the trip has not been fun. At all.

Morning peeps.

Fun: last night my friend Kim came over; he needed help making picnic napkins for a friend's wedding gift. I went to the farmer's market on my way home and bought TONS of fresh stuff, then got some nice bread and cheese, hummus (which we both remarked was extremely good...just a local supermarket brand, Cedar, but I bought plain, original and think we forget how good it takes without other stuff in it), and these olives that had been roasted, then marinated. Put out a spread of capreze salad, other harder cheeses and bread, olives, sliced cucumbers, hummus, and some nice beer he brought. (I had a little to no ill effects. It was a hefe barley wine...so apparently my issue lately with beer isn't wheat.) Then I sewed and he fringed the napkins. We made a doz, 4 each in green, blue and lavender seersucker. So cute. He left me 6 green ones, which I might finish and give to a friend for her birthday, or I'll keep them for myself.

Amy, we actually talked about doing one of those running cruises at one point, as a meet up, before your time. :)

I've decided that I'm going to spend some money up front on a few things, pay for them out of my savings and just be done with it. I'm paying off my credit card bill, buying a good vacuum, framing some stuff for my living room I've had for a year, and paying my car and renter's insurance in one lump sum. It's gonna set me back a bit, but it makes sense. I'm trying to streamline my life a little...at some point, I'm also getting to my closets to unload stuff I don't need. SOOOO much stuff I don't need.

So, can any of you guys recommend a canister vacuum for under $350, that's good for dust and pet hair, hardwood floors and low/no pile rugs (not wall to wall, high pile)? I'm looking at a Miele Olympus s2120 because DX and I had a Miele and we had absolutely no problems with it, even after 10 years...he still has it. But I can't afford the model we had; the s2120 is a lightweight, small one but the reviews are ALL positive. And Amazon has it for $100 off list ($299 v $399).

Moe I think your idea of paying stuff off and streamlining is a great idea. It will make things a little more stress free in the long run

So tonight is our 80's field party. I'm going to be sporting the side pony with the scruncy, popped collar polo shirts, tight rolled jeans, slouch socks and jelly bracelets. I'm so freaking excited!!

The rest of this weekend I will be partying like it's 1885. I'm canning dill pickles, dilly beans, salsa, tomato juice and bloody mary mix. It's going to be a long long weekend people!

Morning all!!!

Amy that cruise looks awesome!!!!!

SO yesterday sucked but I have such a good weekend ahead of me that I just don't care anymore!!! Having some old high school friends over tonight to swim and BBQ. I think the kids will outnumber the adults!! Should be fun. Tomorrow I finally get this mop on top of my head cut (haven't had it cut in 10 months!!) and then tomorrow is DH's 20th HS reunion. I do know quite a few people who will be there so that is good. And hey, if I am bored, it is about 5 miles from my house, I can leave and DH can find a ride home!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Oh and WIppy, pics are required, ok?!

Lori my and DH's 20th reunion is next weekend. I wasn't planning on going, initially. But DH really wants to go and talked me into it. I started thinking to myself, "Geez...I look pretty good for my age, and I've lost all that baby weight from Evelyn...why not go and see what's up with people!" hee hee! I've gotta make an appointment with my hairdresser to do something with my hair first, though.

Something I forgot from my drawer yesterday: All Bran Buds. I started eating them in my yogurt this week in an attempt to get more fibre in my diet. Good lord, I'm going to the bathroom like crazy. I know, TMI! But still, holy moly. They certainly work.

Fun: heat wave finally passed and we're having a lovely morning.

NOT fun: Just unloaded the glaze kiln & all but 2 pieces have glaze issues. This is really pissing me off. I don't have time for it, plus it's expensive not to be able to sell the stuff. Stupid green glaze.

Running Cruise - seems like it would be fun. Bart Yasso was on a running cruise last week. He was posting updates on FB about the runs/races they did at each stop. Days at sea were rest days or cross train in the fitness center. The cruise he was on was going up to Alaska, so my guess is that the temps were cool too.

Also, Fiber One cereal will make you regular as hell. 1/2 cup a day in the morning and the next morning whoosh! oooh that really is TMI isn't it.

Today is the last day of Driver's Ed for DD - she made it the whole two weeks! And she is taking her permit test after class today! Ack!!! I'll use my lunch hour to take her to the test. I have a table reserved on the patio at Whistle Binkies on the Lake for us tonight to either celebrate or drown sorrows.

I need to eat. I am wishing I had a better snack drawer.

Morning, all. I've got a softball game at 9:00 tonight, so I may have to take a small nap this afternoon. I think I'm going to try to make banana bread (in the oven) and zucchini wheat bread (in the bread machine) today. I also need to run some errands and start thinking about packing for my week at my parents' house. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll have to run into the office today since there's a last minute thing I need to take care of before I go on my trip. That's not fun, but it shouldn't take too long.

Falling asleep at the computer. Maybe a nap sooner than later?

Half a cup??? Try sprinkling it on your regular cereal instead. A little dab'll do ya, as they say. :)

since no one is jumping up to tell me how much they love or hate their vacuums (Maria loves her Dyson, but she's not here to tell us how much), I thought I'd share that I am going with a Miele...just have to decide between the lower priced line with the same motor but plastic parts, or the mid priced line with the metal parts and rubber bumpers. I will not be getting the $1200 model either way.

Wippy, can you send me some pickles??? I <3 <3 <3 pickles.

Maureen, we have a Bissell Powergroom. It works great on the dog hair, although I only use it on the rugs, not the hardwood. (I prefer to broom sweep the hardwood and/or use my microfiber thing.)

Thanks, Kath. I tend to vacuum everything, so something that works on wood floors is better for me.

Sorry that I didn't answer the vacuum question, Moe. Frankly, I don't even know what model we have. I use it when I need to, it works okay, blah blah blah. Meh.

not that this is to much of a help but I got a vacuum for christmas I have no idea what it is but I freaking love it. I'd marry it if I could.

I'm making one brother a bloody mary basket for xmas and the other one a Chilli basket and everything is coming from my garden. I'm making my SIL a spagetti basket and everything will be home made including the pasta and the garlic sprinkle.
