Morning peeps.

Fun: last night my friend Kim came over; he needed help making picnic napkins for a friend's wedding gift. I went to the farmer's market on my way home and bought TONS of fresh stuff, then got some nice bread and cheese, hummus (which we both remarked was extremely good...just a local supermarket brand, Cedar, but I bought plain, original and think we forget how good it takes without other stuff in it), and these olives that had been roasted, then marinated. Put out a spread of capreze salad, other harder cheeses and bread, olives, sliced cucumbers, hummus, and some nice beer he brought. (I had a little to no ill effects. It was a hefe barley wine...so apparently my issue lately with beer isn't wheat.) Then I sewed and he fringed the napkins. We made a doz, 4 each in green, blue and lavender seersucker. So cute. He left me 6 green ones, which I might finish and give to a friend for her birthday, or I'll keep them for myself.

Amy, we actually talked about doing one of those running cruises at one point, as a meet up, before your time.

I've decided that I'm going to spend some money up front on a few things, pay for them out of my savings and just be done with it. I'm paying off my credit card bill, buying a good vacuum, framing some stuff for my living room I've had for a year, and paying my car and renter's insurance in one lump sum. It's gonna set me back a bit, but it makes sense. I'm trying to streamline my life a little...at some point, I'm also getting to my closets to unload stuff I don't need. SOOOO much stuff I don't need.

So, can any of you guys recommend a canister vacuum for under $350, that's good for dust and pet hair, hardwood floors and low/no pile rugs (not wall to wall, high pile)? I'm looking at a Miele Olympus s2120 because DX and I had a Miele and we had absolutely no problems with it, even after 10 years...he still has it. But I can't afford the model we had; the s2120 is a lightweight, small one but the reviews are ALL positive. And Amazon has it for $100 off list ($299 v $399).
