Looking forward to seeing Solar tomorrow in Minnesota for the Urban HM! Who else is running it? Baggs. Crane, are you? Brandy?? Someone email me details on when you'll be there (I need to run 4 miles before it, so I can make it be my LR of 17. Definitely not gonna race it).

Morning all,

I went out late last night for some hill repeats. This was after I took the kids out to zaxby's for dinner, so I had a full tum of chicken fingers and french fries. I managed to keep it all down so I'll call that a success. I went to a new hill that I hadn't run up before. It's a paved path up a hill and it's wicked steep and about .17 miles long. I only managed three reps before I was cooked. Plus a nice thunder storm was rolling in on top of me, so I called it.

Supposed to run 10 today. I have a crazy day @ work. Not sure when I'm going to squeeze it in.

One of my training partners is getting married tomorrow and some of us are invited to the wedding. As one of her wedding day festivities, she wants us to race a 5K so I'm commited to that. Don't know how much "racing" will take place. But, I can run it. boB - it's Natalie getting married. The one who won the 5K the day before Mercedes when you guys were here that year. Should be fun.

I ate hills for breakfast. Sweat fest! Finished it off with some walking lunges.

I'm running the Johnny Miles 5 K Road Race tomorrow morning. My goal, as always with 5ks, is to finish in under a half hour. I did well on the 3 miler earlier this week, so who knows. I guess it all depends on how the belly is feeling.

6 miles this a.m. before work in 58 degrees. It was glorious. I wished I had more time to run. I felt like I could go for miles and miles. I hope it's this nice for my 19 mile long run tomorrow.

My muscles have been cramping like crazy! Not just my feets. All of them. Muscles in my neck and hips and legs and abs. Had my quad cramp so bad in the shower this morning that I can still feel it! What does that mean I'm deficient in? Potassium? I don't think it's water, I drink plenty. I'm weraing my compression socks right now, think that'd help?

Was supposed to run 7 this morning, but kinda lost it in the middle. I was 2.5 miles from the car when I decided to end it at 5 and walk it in but then 1.5 from the car, I decided to run the last mile. So I ended up running 6, walking 1.75, and that last mile was pretty fast. Maybe I could have run more, but I was starting to need more walk breaks and my eating has been somewhat hit or miss for the last couple of days, so I decided not to push too hard. I also forgot my hat, so I was having sweat issues, though there was a slight breeze and the 73* temps were welcome.

Tomorrow I'm volunteering at The Great Sandbagger 10k, where everyone predicts their final time, the slowest starts first/fastest last and everyone tries to finish at the same time. The person closest to their predicted time wins. No watches. They need help at the start/finish since there are so many different starting times (based on predicted finish). Should be fun. Afterward, I think I'll skip a run in the middle of the day (unless it's nice out) and walk a nice 3 miler. We'll see.

Good luck this weekend, racers!

Hey everybody! I didn't run for 2 days in a row thanks to my crazy schedule. I slept in until 5:45 this morning (much needed) and ran 12.5 miles in terrific weather (62 start, 70 finish). The humidity definitely finally broke here. Bad news, I tweaked my lower back after that. Not sure why/how, but hopefully it won't be too big of a deal.

Very envious of the MN meetup - have fun everybody!!

Weights done. May toss in some core this afternoon. Today is an official rest day, otherwise. I am seriously thinking of taking tomorrow as my first "take a break" series, though I'm not entirely sure I want to give in just yet. I suppose I'll wait until tomorrow morning, and decide then.

What? Geez, that's too bad! This is keeping me from falling asleep at my desk this afternoon. It's pretty neat to see stuff going on. The women just ran 1.5k in 4 minutes. Eeek! And watching the pole vaulting and high jumping is neat, too.

Anyone want to run the Columbia Gorge Marathon with me on October 24? I'm thinking about doing it as a fun run. First 500 entries get a running beanie (hat)! We have a Thursday football game that week, so it might make for a nice little road trip and our neighbors just recently moved to Hood River. The negatives would be that it might be windy as hell and there's a big ass hill in the middle of the course.
