Well only a half day today because it's spring break! I can't wait for the week without school! I'll still have to do a book report and lots of scholarships though but it will definitely be a good stress reliever.

Fast intervals tonight...gotta find a good spot to do 'em though...

Have a great start to your weekend!

Best of luck Dave! Even though you don't have anyone "with" you, we'll be there!

Good luck Dave!!!
Alex, good luck with the intervals... and enjoy Spring Break!

Did 16 miles on the canal path this morning . Something like 1-10 @ 7:40, 11-15 @ 6:45, 16 @ 8:45. My Garmin kept losing its signal toward the end and garbled my splits, so I had to use some fuzzy math to guesstimate my paces.

Have a busy weekend ahead -- traveling to NYC for a wedding -- and don't know how much running I can fit in. So, wanted to get a long run in early...

Good morning all. I ran out of time to post my run yesterday, and put in 3.36 miles in 30:02. When I got to my street and saw my houses I pretended I saw the finish line clock ticking off 1:56xx and sprinted home.

Only an easy two miler planned for sometime today, then nothing tomorrow. Resting up for Sunday. The weather does not look promising, but surely it will not be as windy as last weekend. Surely. Surely?

Take care out there.

That's awesome Alex, gotta love short Fridays. Hope the intervals go well.

Dave, I'm really looking forward to your results. No pressure or anything, but with the training you've been putting in, I'm expecting some pretty good things.

Did a nice easy 10 last night then walked a couple to keep my legs loose. Since I finally get to race tomorrow, I'll make today a much easier day. I'll probably hold myself to 6 or 7, but I'll likely split that up into 2 runs. (I know that doesn't make sense, but I figure it's the same as going 5 wear and tear-wise, but it'll score more points).
I too have a short day because my dad was able to get tickets to my old high school's state semifinal game which is today at 2.

ETA- Loopy and Ellen, you guys snuck in there on me...

Nice running Loopy, hope you can find time for some running this weekend.

Ellen- I love the positive pre-race visualization method, nice work.
Good luck to all the racers this weekend, looks like there are a lot of us.

Alex - Enjoy your break and your intervals.

Dave - All right, here it is. Have a great time at your Tri. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Loopy - Good idea getting that run in before your wedding activities. Hope you have fun at the wedding.

Ellen - Nice visualizing there. Which race are you doing?

Mailbox - Fun game and then a race tomorrow? Does it get any better than that?

NO run for me today. Slept like crap with achy legs. WILL do a core before days end.

Enjoy all...

For the record, I like that Aqua Blue site style!

Alex, enjoy your intervals and your break! I can't wait for mine which starts in a week.

Dave, kick butt in the tri!

loopy, nice start to your day with that long run.

Ellen, I like to use that visualization sometimes too.

Mailbox Head, good luck in your race!

Dan, have a restful day. I am in the achy bad sleep club too. It is my knee in no specific area (sort of moves around), but I know my IT band is tight.

I am going to see how a planned 3 feels this afternoon and based on that may be changing Sunday's planned race to a run. That would be disappointing, but the main thing is to stay healthy for Boston and beyond.

Dave - Rememebr to enjoy the experience and smile once in awhile

Alex - Suppose to be nice enough @ noon in WI today - I will be running with you (between 11:45-1:00) - On you last interval think about the heavy breathing flounder stalking you at H&S and kick my ass!

Loopy - Funny "Fuzzy Math" is all I have

No run this am - Noon and maybe after work

Good running to all -

I am thinking that today will most likely be a rest day from running. I might get some other workout in or just some stretching. Keep up the great running everyone and have a great morning.

Alex--enjoy your spring break! We don't take one. But, we only have six weeks left!!!

David--HAVE FUN!!! Seriously, get out there and do your best, but remember why you are doing it--to have fun!!!

Fishbowl for me this morning. I think it wsa 1500 in 40:49. I can never keep track of my laps!

Quick change, then a very short run. I wasn't down for a run today, but I wanted to check out my new shoes. Didn't really notice anything, so I guess they're okay!

Busy, busy weekend ahead, so probably won't be around much. This afternoon I have to go up to Grandma's. She's home from the nursing home but can't be left alone. My aunt has been up there for two weeks without a break. I was supposed to go up last weekend but got snowed in. So, I'll go up this afternoon. My cousin will come in this evening so I can come home tonight. I work in the morning, then my long run (2:30+) in the afternoon. Most likely dodging rain drops... Up early Sunday to get my swim in, then back home long enough to pick up my son so we can go ride. Then, back up to Grandma's. My aunt will come up Monday morning so I can come home. I love my Grandma and am glad I can help out. It's just gonna make for a busy weekend with lots of driving!

I'm joining the rest club by not running today. Like Dan and SGH I slept like crap and have achy legs - must be something in the water. Need to hit the foam roller later. Probably put in 3 easy miles tomorrow - I'll be slightly over on my planned mileage for the week but that's the way it goes. Then it's 5k go time on Sunday AM.

Have a good one!

I am excited and ready to race. I just finished a nice easy 8 miles outside. Decided not to run, because I went a little harder than I wanted last night at soccer practice. Nothing strengous, but I had fun.

I am off and thanks for all the well wishes. See you in a day or two. Clear skies and high winds. No worries though, that just means everyone is fighting the same conditions.

Dave -- Best of luck. Many good thoughts your way from the group.

Alex -- Jackrabbit through those intervals!

Loopy -- Man, that's fast!

ellen -- Good luck Sunday!

Mailbox -- Good luck tomorrow. Looking forward to a report. And, incidentally, thank you for the Hadd paper, it was pretty compelling stuff!

Dan -- Good rest to you. Got any favorites for March Madness?

Sista' -- Yes, don't lose sight of Boston. Eyes on the prize! You do what feels right Sunday.

Flounder -- Good run(s) later.

Kevin & Asics -- Rest well.

4boys -- Hectic weekend! Take some time to simply stop, too. It's a joyful thing.

Me -- Did eight last night, and tried to keep HR around 160. I did that, but pace went from 7:40 at mile 4 to 8:00 by the end. Kinda' disappointed. Oh, well. Just work to be done to improve my fitness, I suppose.

Alex- Enjoy the intervals and your shortened school day.
4boys- Nice job on the swim. Hope all goes well with your grandmother.
Mailbox- Good luck this weekend! How long is the race?
Flounder- Enjoy the run or double runs later.
Loopy- great job on your 16!
Ellen- Nice run! I do that too at the end of a run it really works when I feel like just stopping already.

RA/Dan/SGH/kfuller- I'm in your boat. Rest day today. Legs are dead from the two hard runs this week, the 600m repeats and 60 min negative split run yesterday. Gonna save some juice for tomorrow's 9-10miler

Good morning and happy Friday to all!!

Feeling pretty good today, after yesterday's fast-finish long run. But I'm still going to take it easy today. No running...just fishbowl for me today. That's right I'm going to dip into the pool today, first time in months! It won't be anything particularly strenuous, probably about 500m of freestyle and then some pool running, followed by the whirlpool.

Like Loopy I'm heading out of town this weekend, going skiing at Snowshoe in West Virginia. So, lots of "alternative training," to borrow VRAA lingo, this weekend. I'm planning to bring running gear but I'm not sure if they really offer that option in the hotel where we are staying. Hopefully they do so I can at least get one easy run in while I'm there. We'll see.

Speaking of VRAA I did go ahead and put my name in as someone who could "come off the bench" and help a team in need. I'm not going to overextend myself for VRAA with doubles, etc, not with two marathons coming up, but with all the mileage I'm putting in these days some deserving team ought to be able to benefit.

Dave - good luck with the Tri. I know you are going to rock it. Your great training is going to pay off.

Alex - nail those intervals!

RA - glad you got in with that club. It definitely helps with motivation. I love the club track workouts that I do. Not to mention DCRRC is the flagship club in this area. We even got mentioned in the Runner's World profile of DC this month!

4bm - sounds like a really busy weekend. Best of luck with it all.

Ellen - nice run yesterday and I look forward to reading your race report!

Tonya - want some Kool-Aid?

Good luck Dave!

I ran with a buddy this morning, one who has done a HM about a year ago but not maintained training. Kind of like a recovery run for me, I guess. It was a very relaxing 4 miles. I never thought I'd say that.
