On this day in 2007, a few brave soles attempted to effect a migration from asterisk land over to Kickrunners. If we get some power users and a little momentum over the weekend, maybe we can make it happen.

Me, up early on the trainer. 5 minute easy warm-up, then 10x1min heavy resistance strength work. Ended with a short 5 minuites of med. effort to cool down. Felt good. Followed that with some squats and lunges while out with the dog. Those felt not so good.

Enjoy all, and please tell your friends, real or imaginary.

I'm about to hit the elliptical for 45-60 minutes, depending on how i feel. Last night was a 2700 yard workout at the pool with a lot of speed stuff, so I'm still a bit tired.

Happy training!

I woke up with another rainy day. So off to the trainer I go. The plan is for some step intervals. 53-18 through 53-13, 1 min each at a cadence of 85. I am going to attempt 6 intervals but if I feel I can't make it through the whole thing I will only do a few. This is my first attempt at this type of workout.

Jim - nice ride this morning.

Heidi - Have fun on the elliptical. Nice workout in the pool.

Hey. Is Phenix the pretty town lined with Antelbellum or whatever-you-call-it style houses lining the street?

I always pass that town on the way to Panama City Beach.

You thinking of Eufaula where the movie Sweet Home Alabama was filmed.

Finished my workout and made it shorter as expected with only three intervals. My resting HR was a bit high this morning so I figure either I am overtraining or getting sick.

My workout:
Get up and reset the alarm to go to work.

I skipped.

Although, it's kind of ok. I have a group long run tomorrow, and I can run on Sunday now. If I had run today, it would have been too many days in a row of running to run on Sunday. And I'll be at my inlaws' so I'll need the distraction.

Hey all - good to see ya' here

No workouts for me pretty much all week, due to a bad cold and some tweaky leg issues (left knee, right knee/hip adductors - owww, that massage hurt yesterday)

Hoping to get into the pool tomorrow for some swimming, which would put me over 20 miles for the year (that's probably around 20 times the amount I've put in in my whole life prior, to put that figure in perspective.)

I'm sick with a cold and my daughter was up again at 3. I suspect she's getting my cold, but is showing no symptoms yet. That means the gym is out. Crud. Missed two days now. I'll push her in the jogging stroller later...

Trying to help build momentum...

After work I hit it again. Went out for a crisp 3.5 mile run at around 7:45 pace. Then hit the pool for 20 minutes of drills. That will allow me to sleep in tomorrow if I so choose.

Well in the spirit of tithers, swam a scant 1 mile in 54 degree ocean water, swallowed some on the way out. I've got a cough sniffle thing going on that's conducive to swallowing water. Outfit: green and white speedo workout bikini, 2 swim caps (1 latex 1 silicone) in deference to the temp. Aquasphere Kaiman black goggles lots of sea grass and kelp.

You know, I have utmost respect to you folks who can swim sans wetsuit in the cold temps (and with a cold no less...sheesh! I'm a wimp in comparison)

Of course, swimming in cold temps is way down there in terms of your accomplishments, swimmerbee - I've always enjoyed reading about your exploits.
