Thanks for starting us off, KS. Nice runs out of you lately, as usual.

Yes, Baba's 6 is a sure sign Spring is right around the corner.

Nice w/o yesterday, Rip!

Congrats on that tempo run yesterday, Opie. You nailed it!

OM, if I tried to twist my self into a pretzal like that I would: a. pull something, b. fall over in a second. But for you - you achieve "balance."

Heme, that sounds like a great way to save some energy and have a laugh at the same time. We need to do that south of the border.

Did I miss something? I thought Gobi was still waiting to hear about the new job. In any case, I hope Mrs G is back in the swing soon.

That was greta news from Econo. Thanks for the update OM.

Serious core w/o for me today. I took a day off after 6 days of running culminating in that tempo yesterday. Wicked warm here today - should reach 60. But 20-40 mph winds tomorrow and 30's - just in time for my LR. It'll be good training though.

CrunchieTastic Friday

Offer arrived this morning and I have accepted. Same company but changing roles.

MrsG has seen the doctor and has some new drugs to try. She seems a little better but not great at all.

It is half term in the UK next week so MiniG is coming to stay for a few days, happy about this as it seems such a long time since I saw her last.

Training - 10 miles done early and at 7.xx pace. Drama free and to be honest I am having to use the heart rate monitor more and more to stop me running too quickly.

Have a great weekend everyone

Congrats to G!

Mike, enjoy that cool "breeze." It was in the 70's yesterday after work when I did that tempo run and thanks for the props. Is 6 miles a typical tempo run for you? I should have been doing longer tempo runs for Newport if I wanted a sub-4 marathon. I'm glad to have Brooke work me after a long wait. Doing diddly today.

congratulations on the new job Gobi. Hope Mrs.G is feeling better soon.

back to work today after a day of being stuck in the snow at home. I shoveled til my back hurt, went tubing, had snowball fights and overall had a fun day. Glad to be back at work today though as I'm sure one of the attorneys in our office was sweating bullets on whether or not I'd finish a brief she needs to file today. I should be able to finish it up this morning though.

Opie, yeah, I'll typically peak at 8 @ tempo, sometimes a rare 10'er. And everything is preceeded by an EZ 2 mile w/u.

<sekrit msg for Opie>

I only did 6 yesterday because I'm tapering for a marathon next week on the Cape. I'm keeping this low key so shhhhhh.

Perhaps she should try a new doctor. Best wishes to her. Congrats to you on the new position.

I am happily resting today! Not usual for me to be content like that. I did, however, drop a good two pounds on the scale.... got my hair cut. So it's all the more betterer.

Congrats on the new job Gobi....enjoy the visit with miniG next week.....hope the wife is OK.

3 easy miles on the TM at the gym as my usual route is snowed in. Won't run in the stuff as I slipped on some ice once and severely injured a knee.

Tomorrow is the local HM, first time at that distance in 3.5 years. Training went well, but mentally I'm not in it due to real life stuff. Tomorrows a new day, though, I just have to focus for 2 hours. Sometimes you just have to go through the motions and see what transpires. Winter races aren't the time for PR's anyway. The goal's 1:56, about 7-8 minutes off the last time, but I'll settle for anything less than 1:59:59. Hopefully I can keep the backside of Tamster in view and use that for some inspiration. Might need some binoculars though.

I got in my easy run today. Felt pretty good at 30 minutes so I kept upping the level .1 every 1/2 mile so I finished at a nice pace.

Ended up with 7.34 miles in 60:00 (8:10 pace) at 3% incline and 1,163 elevation gain. 35th day in a row of running including 28 days in a row of running exactly one hour.

Congats on the new job Gobi

Good luck on that ......... next week Mike.
