Good morning!

Most likely will be a rest day for me today. I get off work at seven am, have a Doc appointment mid-day at 1145 and then have to go back to work tonight for 1900. So if there is exercise at all between the short naps I'll get it's going to be 30 minutes max!

Yesterday afternoon I did group training with just one other girl and the trainer was in heaven and decided to kill our arms! She said she wasn't playin' with us because we were two of her stronger people in the group and she wanted to see what we could take. Holy Carp! She wasn't kiddin'! Good workout though.

After that I took a little break then drove to the co-ed gym for spin class. Tried out a new guy and it was a pretty good class. He has a different take on it than the other spin classes I've been to but it was a good.

Hope everyone has great runs and workouts today!

Tiff, Hearing your day's schedule reminds me of why I didn't like night shifts at all way back when.

It was this date last year the cast came off my leg. I ran 5 miles yesterday and plan to run about that this afternoon.

Some good progress has been made since the cast came off. 685 miles and counting.

Why'd you have a cast on? And don't tell me it was b/c your leg was broken.

35 minute tempo run for me this morning. I think that on the weather web page that I check before I go out they should put the "Feels Like" temperature in really big numbers instead of putting the temperature in the big numbers. There's a big difference between 38 (temperature) and 26 (Feels Like). It's just a thought.

Mornin' all!

No runs for the past couple of days. It's been crap for weather. We got a wack of snow on wednesday, followed by a wack of ice pellets, and then a wack of rain. Needless to say...it was a total mess. I did get a lot of shovelling and ice chipping in so my arms got a workout.

We're heading to my dad's for the weekend and I hope to get my long run in. There's 16k on the schedule. I'll just get DH to drive me 16k from the house and drop me off and then I'll head back. Sometimes I like that better than doing an out and back.

Ran a very short but relative-to-Moe speedy 1.5 last night. I don't know why, but I felt FAST...so I went FAST.

Possible run tonight. I need to get in at least one run this weekend...not sure which day. I'm busy tomw pretty much from 8am until 10pm...but I may have a break if I'm not needed all day at the theatre. We'll see.

morning

Head's still stuffed, eyes are heavy. Ugh. Got my 8 miles done yesterday, though. Off day from running, but I'll drag my butt to the gym later for some weights.

Now to find some tea...

Morning folks.

Got 5.5 on the non-popping TM last night. (Turns out that the original belt was sort of a 2-ply one, and the bottom layer was becoming separated from the top one. Separation = air bubble type thing, which = all the popping and thunking we were hearing)

The new belt? Smooth as anything. The TM itself has a softer 'feel' if that makes sense.

Anywho.. today is supossed to be a rest day. However, since Monday I had to cut short my run due to TM issues, and Wednesday, I was so involved with doggie stuff, I gave up the run... I figure I may run something today to get a little caught up for the week.

Got a 10k event tomorrow, if Maggie is doing okay, and I feel okay about leaving her at home.

Hey all:

Busy day today. Lousy night. DD can't shake this cold and neither can I. DS and DD traded wakeup calls so I more or less gave up at 4:30. I was going to run this morning but I'll try after work instead. Blah.

16x400 @ 5k pace on tap for this evening. Should be fun.

Good runs today everybody.

I just had the person who removed it toss it in the bin. Taking a shower standing up again felt so good that evening, start scrubbing away all that dead skin. The calf muscle felt like jelly paste or something. If I had been allowed to walk, I probably couldn't have covered a mile of distance. Last night I was running about 10:00 min/mile pace.

I still get kind of freaked out at times thinking how the bone broke. But there's no doubt that the bones are much stronger down in my legs now. That 6 weeks of cast time was also really important in spurring me on to start working on my strength. It was mostly upper body stuff at first. But as I've done work and learned more, I'm doing strength training for the legs too and it's starting to feel like it's helping with the running. My legs feel much more solid now.

Morning Gang -

6.5 on TM this a.m. Did some hills (downhill too!) to keep from being bored during it. It is my Sunday workout - I moved it to today so I can drink Saturday night at a neighborhood party.

Nettie - I've found that sometimes running after a night like that actually helps! You sweat out the alcohol or something!

Good runs to all!
