Temps dropped again from yesterday's high of about 80. Today might get to 60 with 15-20 North winds. 57 degrees and windy this morning. Wind felt cold on the arms most of the run. 9.5 moh @ 8:15 pace.

Thanks for the suggestions Heme. I think the Knoxville marathon in April is relatively small and we are looking at Steamtown marathon in Scranton PA and the Hudson Mowhawk in Schenectaty (sp?) NY both which are less than 3K people. I'd like to go to Toronto for a run/vacation some day.

All I have to do now to finish getting ready for Christmas is about 60 or so Christmas cards. Can't wait to get my kids home and my one grand daughter. They'll only stay 3-4 days but only get to see the gd about once a year.

Will have 40 miles this week after tomorrow and plan only about 30 week of Christmas before the ramp up again.

Rip - if I run the Steamtown marathon I will probably run a 1 hr hard workout each week on the treadmill with a pretty good decline to simulate that course. It has almost a 1000' drop over the distance and much of it in first 5 miles and then some to the half marathon point. 3 bumps going back up around mile 23-24.

Hi TW and KS!

Hi to everyone to come.......

Busy day here, as it's my last day in the office for the year, save a bit of work from home next week. No runs today, but am hoping to get to the gym before the end of the day.

Yes Tom - I think it said small but seemed to a bit bigger. However, you know EVERYTHING is bigger in TX.

Complete day off. Resting up for a long run tomorrow and my legs are still a little tired from my eliptical tempo.

Maybe I'll run the Steamtown with you KS.

Just came across a little research that says uphills cost you 3.3% time for every 1% incline up but you can only gain back

1.833% of that on the downhill of the same incline. I think that means Steamtown is supoosed to be a couple minutes faster.

(Unless your quads give out.)

Rip= would love to have you join me/us at Steamtown if we do that one. I'm trying to talk a group of 4-6 couples into making this a group trip.
