Good morning all.

Megs - I had the same problem yesterday afternoon and couldn't get back on to KR until now.

61* and raining this morning. I decided to go for a run. It is the first I have run in over a month. Took it easy. 3.12 miles in 27:22. It is a start back running again. Will have to keep an eye on my knee. Since there isn't a whole lot they can do as of now, I guess I just run through the pain and drive on.

I did 12 miles yesterday at lunch on the bike. 6 miles OB at a comfortable pace (18.3 MPH). turned and head back with 5 miles hard (20.3 MPH) and a one mile recovery (15.7 MPH). It felt good.

The plan is for 15 miles today at lunch on the bike if the rain stops.

Happy running all.

I couldn't stand it any longer and went out for an easy 5 miles this morning. I was a little slow, but otherwise felt great. I ran by the water which was still as glass, and at the end it was nice to see the sky brightening up.

I had conditions like yours, wanderingoutlaw, but it felt humid to me! I overdressed based on the forecast of 40s.

Welcome back, boyerdavea. Glad the run felt good.

Hey Guys,

Here in Asheville. Great town. Had the worst day of travel possible getting here on Wed. Won't bore you with the details. Off to visit a couple of treatment facilities today. These are facilities for youth with substance abuse issues. Very interesting.

Still no running. Have a Dr.'s appt. on Monday.

Have a good one.

Elizabeth City. Total opposite end of the state and opposite culturally from Asheville. I LOVE Asheville and spent a month there doing yoga teacher training. Enjoy your time there -- there are some great trails if you do get a chance to run.

Does Vashon in your screen name refer to Vashon Island by chance?

Hey ya'll,

Day 1 of being freeeee from school for about a month!! I'm just doing laundry (its funny, I had to wear soccer socks yesterday because its the only kind of socks I have left...I'm good on every other piece of clothing but for some reason I'm out of socks!), mailing some stuff, and making a trip to the bank today....woohoo, haha. Going to watch men's soccer play Wake Forest in the NCAA tourney semifinals tonight at 5pm. GO TECH!!! Will get in 3 miles with my boyfriend after the game

David- Nice run back, bet it feels good to be runnin; take care of that knee though, I tore the cartilage and one of the ligaments in my knee about 2 years ago and its rough havin' knee problems
Outlaw- Nice run
SGH- Glad the run went well
Dan- Enjoy your trip
Alex- Have a good run later

Hey everyone,
So I've been waiting almost 24 hours to post my workouts from yesterday...

Had a nice little lunch run of 8.25 miles, 65:30, and then after work I got 66
minutes on the elliptical for 12.90 miles.

I haven't decided what to do for today. I think I might take a complete rest day,
since I haven't taken a day off since last Thursday. But I may go for a lunchtime
run. I don't know. If I run, it will be the usual 8+. If not, well, it's just laundry
tonight.

Hello everyone. Yesterday I did a short run of 3.33 miles in 29:17. So no running today, but I will run tomorrow morning. Not sure how far maybe 6 or so. Great job on the running and it's nice to actually be able to get on the site again.

Morning all! Finally found y'all again...

David--careful with that knee...

Dan--no doubt the snow affected your travels. Enjoy NC while you are there!

Megs--we are always running out of socks. I swear I buy 2 packs of socks a month. I don't know where they go!!! Same goes for pencils. How can 4 kids go through so much stuff?!?!?!?!?

Just the fishbowl for me this morning. NOt happy about that. But, I do get a 'long' run of 45mins tomorrow. I'll be running with my group--first time since they ran Columbus--AND it should start snowing about the time we start our run. Fun, fun, fun!!! Right at 30', so it will be perfect!

I can't believe how often you drink, RFF. I don't think
I could run like I do with that kind of intake...

Me either! Hubby bought me a thing of wine coolers for my post-TOSRV dinner. It's a tradition that goes back to '85 (before I was 'of age'!). That was in May. There are still two left. I know I drank one. I think hubby drank the other...

My running's been pretty crappy lately. It's not that I don't have the motivation to get out there, just not getting much progress. Another super easy 6 last night, and probably a slightly up-tempo run tonight. Supposed to get to play a game of football tomorrow during the 4+ inches of snow we're going to get. Should be a lot of fun, but it'd be more fun if it wasn't flag.

Dave- great to see you back out there. I hope your knee holds up, but you've been smart about it so I'm sure it will.

Wow. That was weird yesterday. Nowhere to post.

Oh well, glad to be back, even though I don't have THAT much of a workout to report. Yesterday was Day 5 of marathon recovery week. I took to the elliptical at home and did 35 minutes, higher intensity than on Tuesday but still on the low side. Copious stretching before and after.

I'd say the post-race soreness is 99% gone now, just a teeny tiny bit of soreness in my right calf remains. I'm hoping today to get out for a short run, just 2-3 miles. Then for tomorrow, I'm planning on a 5-6 mile recovery run.

Dave - good job on the run

Mailbox - flag football ought to be some good up-tempo running, kind of like my soccer playing.

4boysmom - sounds like a fun time tomorrow, as long as it stays below 32 and the snow doesn't become rain. And yeah, I'm a lightweight now too.

RFF/Flounder - take some Vitamin I and get out there.

Tonya - since you "haven't decided what to do yet" I look forward to reading about your 17 mile treadmill run later.

Megs - way to go with the exams. Go Tech! Unfortunately I won't be able to see the match. I'm going to a friend's art gallery opening this evening and will miss the game. Anyway, let's do a run when you get back home.

Dan - hope you get a run in. NC is having great weather right now, has been since I was down there over the weekend.

Sistergoldenhair - we chatted a long while back on CR, post-Philly 2006. Nice to get reacquainted.

wanderingoutlaw - nice run.

Alex - good luck with the 4 later.

Gotta go for now...

Hi all. Friday's a day off for me. I've been stuck in pattern of 6 days on, 1 day rest.

Last night I ran in 30F and clear. I like this temp range as its not too cold and its hard to overheat. 8.5 miles easy in 68 minutes.

Tomorrow I'm joining a local FA 50 mile run in Youngstown. Weather is forecast as frigid and the trail is gnarly and rocky. Aiming for two loops of the 8.5 mile course, or about 17 miles.

Nice seeing the larger group here. Have a nice weekend.

Although you are correct in you statement - It was a Christmas Party for Work -

I would say I would not drink again this year - But I will be spending 3 days with my inlaws This year yet.

Anything worth doing is worth doing all out

The more serious I get with training the less I will drink.

Gotta love Wisconsin -
