Good morning! I don't have to be at work until 10am so I spent some time running around our very hilly condo complex. About 2 miles in about 25 minutes, more or less. I was trying to work more on smoothness and breathing rather than time, so I was pleased overall with the run. It's a gorgeous, cold, sunny day so it's IRC.

Tonight we're going to a concert to see Joe Bonamassa, so I'm really excited about that! We arranged to have a dog walker come in to take care of our little precious angels (LOL) so they wouldn't have to be crated all evening.

Have a great day!

AM: This morning was my last 4:15AM wake up call for a while, at least from a training perspective. I was in the pool and swimming by 5:15AM, getting in a very solid 3,400m - 500 wu, 4 x 100 drills, 6 x (50 + 100 + 150) @20sec, 4 x 100 drills, 300 cd. I think I have figured out why my swimming slipped a few weeks back, things have been pretty terrible at work, I have been stressed out more lately than at any time during my life. When I would be swimming, staring at that black line at the bottom of the pool, all I would think about was work, work, work. I would get tense and then everything would go downhill. This week I have let the stress go away when doing my training and everything is falling into line.

PM: I am supposed to do a 45 minute run today, it will have to wait until after work today. No worries.

Good day all!

I hit computrainer class this morning. Working on strength, we did 3 long hill repeats, low rpms, I was around 65. Averaged 223 watts for the entire workout, kept it around threshold going up, which I was pretty surprised as the hills were like 15 minutes long. Maybe my threshold is higher than I thought. 1 hour 20 minutes in all.

Later a buddy of mine and myself are going to do a 13 mile run. Going take off and do it around 2pm. He's training for a half marathon, but will be drinking heavily Saturday as his best friend is coming to town and they are going to the NU vs. Iowa game here in town, and he's a Hawkeye. Which is why he's not running on Sunday. He was at the computrainer workout too so he should be trashed as well.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

riley: Way to kick start the morning for us. And you know, the type of run you had this morning is a great way to transition, at least in mindset, from running to "exercise" to lifestyle, as in it being just something you do.

miles: Not that you need it, but this is just a reminder to use this time not training to start visualizing yourself at various stages of your day. Anticipate in those daydreams what might go wrong, what might go right, and work through it all. See yourself being strong. See yourself being smart. And see yourself accepting nothing but glory, for as long as you stay injury-free, victory is something we decide to be; it is a decision. What's most beautiful to me is that you have already done this. So just keep on, brother!

Too gorgeous outside today to not run, so hopefully I'll convince BIL to come over later and watch the kids so I can head out for 8k. Probably the last chance for short sleeves this year!

Plan for the weekend is to get the bike all set up on the trainer at its new location in the basement. I have decided that after two years of being unused, our newly renovated basement apartment (that is 90% complete) is my new workout space. Doesn't look like we will be renting it out again anytime soon so we might as well use the space. I might even post pics once I have my "girl cave" all set up. (That just doesn't roll off the tongue like man cave does! )

Sparty has also motivated me to put pen to paper and work out my training plan for next season.

I have my 1 hr date with the treadmill and The Biggest Loser sheduled for after work. Still doing the 7/3 run/walk intervals as I'm taking my injury rehab slowly and sensibly since I have no pressing races planned. Spin class last night was intervals for the entire class. Killer!

3200 m swim at lunch. I think that might be the longest I've ever swum in a pool! I usually do longer swims in open water, but it's getting a little too cold for me.

30 minutes of strength training followed by a 1 mile run.

DH and I had a great time at the Dave Matthews concert on Wed night. They played for 3 hours which was insane. The girl next to me was also dancing insanely with a beer in one hand and periodically ducking behind the seats to take bong hits. I must be getting old. I'm still recovering from staying up way too late/early and enjoying the city.
