Good Morning -

GL Lab

Went for a tempo run this morning, but didn't have any gas. 6m with .75 of them bf at the end. I was wondering why our road was so crappy - lots of pebbles, etc. and then remembered, we had snow on Monday morning so the sanders must have come through - guess I should look into purchasing the 5 fingers...

Have a wonderful weekend!

staaarving... huge bowl of oatmeal, huge stack of french toast... it's like i haven't eaten in days...

pink, don't 5-fingers cost an arm and a leg? a pair of flat converse all-stars will simulate barefoot running with protection too. or some nice new racing flats, that you can use in your next 10k. minimal shoes, minimal cost.

Good Luck JJJ and sounds like you have a good crew lined up

4 miles easy this morning, 27 degrees, no watch and all good. Not one cloud or even a wisp in the sky. I was in NYC for work yesterday and had a chance to run in Central Park. Always fun and some of the marathon apparatus was still visible in the park. I did my best Shalane imitation up the hills. Okay, not so much, but it was a fun 7 miles of City running. Veteran's Day parade there too and amazing.

Thank you to all who served and serve. A 101 year old WWII veteran who lives one town over died yesterday (obit in today's paper)----bittersweet, yet appropriate right on Veteran's Day.

Feel better soon TW

How many layers of fleece did you wear mcsolar?

Lots of sports on tap this weekend---hockey mom duties this evening at one of the kiddo's game, then we'll head to the Western Mass. x-c championships in Pittsfield on Saturday to cheer our voices hoarse for the Northampton varsity teams going for the wins (the kiddo was a JV runner this year, so he'll be yelling too), then two more hockey games Saturday afternoon/evening. I'll run a half-marathon on Sunday, described here: http://www.masslive.com/sports/index.ssf/2010/11/elite_runners_set_to_return_fo.html Check out my new name in the results blurb---call me Flo!

then a late afternoon hockey game Sunday and Zap! the weekend is over.

Have to go read Dove and Maraposai's reports

Good Morning.

I'm sorry you are still sick Econo - I don't think I had what you have and that's probably why I got over it fairly quickly. I had more of a head cold/congestion/sore throat - but sounds like you got hit with more of a flu-bug. I still have a nagging cough, but actually feel better when I run because it clears out my sinuses and can get more of a productive cough.

feels odd coming into work on a friday when I just had yesterday off - finding it hard to get motivated - but I better get motivated because I just had today and monday before I report for jury duty on Tuesday. I pulled up the court docket for next week (one of the perks I guess) to see what trials were scheduled and if I'd have to conflict off. As it turns out, there are quite a few trials scheduled and only a couple are out of our office and only one trial I'd have to conflict off of. Chances are good that I might actually get chosen next week.

might run at lunch time today. or I might not. but I probably will.

Good luck JJJ!

I ran 11 miles in the 39°F, 100% RH soup this morning. You can't ever get warm in weather like that. 7:52/mi. Followed by a vasectomy cool down. That was done barefoot.

Doc says I can do an easy run next Thursday, and what ever long run I had planned for the weekend. That works for me; my other body parts could use a rest too.

Quick recovery, Lab. You know, I could have saved you the procedure cost and recovery time by teaching you a couple of yoga moves.

Lab, two bags of Birds Eye should do you fine, just rotate them in and out of the freezer.

Did a double today, first time in several weeks, as a substitute for a long run this week. 4.85 miles by myself this morning, 9:09 pace, then 6.75 miles with a friend this afternoon, recovery pace of 11:19. Why do the double instead of a long run? Just don't feel like going long this week, don't know why. Plus I'm probably missing running on Sunday, have a funeral to go to (father of another friend). That's life, I guess; you make it fit as it works out.

I was going to work out at the gym today, but forgot about a meeting and lunch I had scheduled. Oops. Maybe go after work. Nope.. that's coming up soon and I don't wanna. I guess it's a rest day. Too bad though. I read the forecast for this weekend, and as gorgeous as today was, tomorrow is cloudy with chance of snow. Drat. oh well.

Did my scheduled 6 this morning, so now I don't have to get up early tomorrow! Hardly know how to act - a Saturday morning without an alarm clock set for 5:30 or earlier?

Not even any of DS2's baseball games to go to until 4pm, and that might get rained out with our cold front coming through.

So warm today, 77 F, had to take a few walk breaks in the second half just to get the heart rate down. My own fault for starting so late at nearly 10am. Right hip hurt, but not like before, so it must be a distance problem. Got to do the Ferbers tomorrow and Sunday. NSAIDs today. And maybe a jacuzzi soak! I hardly ever use my big bath tub, I forget I even have it!

Having trouble with the RunningAhead website today - will have to log the run tomorrow I guess.

Snow already - we even had some in Texas - way up as far north as you can go and still be in it. But barefoot on pebbles? Ouchihuahua!

Go Gobi! Fly Flo! Jiggety Jig it, JJJ!

Not quite sure what to make of this SS; it does make my mind wander to some interesting places!

BAP, chill out and take a day off. I did. You can, too!

Laura, snow?? In Tx?? Now I've lost faith in all things dear and holy. It's only early November!!

Labduck, I was wondering what she meant too. But I can tell you that when DH went thru that, it was right after our Christmas cookie exchange at work. He e-mailed me something to the effect of "just hanging around the house, eatin' cookies, no urge to wander..."

Yep, rest day. Other than some housecleaning and laundry.
