Doing our football relay today from a town about 25-30 miles away by having each person do a half mile leg with the football before handing it off to the next person. Then we present the game ball as a team to the referees before the game. I'm guessing with our team numbers that we won't get to go too much more than 2 times. More of a social outing than anything, but I'm always excited for it.

I had a fairly relaxing recovery run of six miles this morning. The weather was warm and humid this morning (70°F) making things a little icky. I'm just trying to get my legs prepped for this half-marathon on Sunday. Road hawk, are you going to the Mizzou-Nebraska game Saturday night?

SGH - I forget ... what are you in training for? Good luck tomorrow with that 20!

Recovery run with another gal from work: 5.1 miles in 46:50 (9:11). 83*F & sunny. Crazy weather for October.

jensparks -- Kiawah Island (SC) Marathon on 12/8. With a couple Halfs before. I'm probably being a bit low-key about it after the Shamrock Sprained Foot DNF Marathon this spring, but I'm having a blast training ... and holding together so far so good. It feels like I've regained most of the fitness I lost and I still have 9 weeks.

I'll be excited to see how the Pfitz program works for you next week!

I found out yesterday that I was accepted to UW - River Falls which is about 1/2 hour from the Twin Cities. I plan on majoring in Health and Human Performance and getting a grad degree somewhere for something running related like Exercise sciene or Physiology. My first and only choice...I only had to wait 3 days before I heard back from them too...how cool is that?!

The football relay today was a blast. Each person ran a 1/2 mile leg with the less experienced and slower ones usually at a 1/4 mile. Total was 26.62 miles in 3:06:39 so a 7:01 pace. Pretty great stuff considering nearly all the girls were over 7 minute pace, most 8, so the boys really hammered it. On my last leg I think I ran a 2:45 and it felt easy besides the soreness in my legs. Easy run tomorrow instead of the hills, so hopefully, my calves will soon return to normal.

I just realized something tonight.

During the struggle last night (Thursday), I went over 2000 miles for 2007.

I'm currently at 2009.84 miles for the year.
