Ditto for me to Peter.

This was almost one of those mornings where I bagged the run. Just didn't feel like it. But I forced my sorry butt up and went out and did a short 5 mile run at 9:10 min/mile pace.

Woke up itching to run this morning, so I thought if I applied myself, I could squeeze in a quick 3 miles on the TM before going off to teach. Hey, it could happen, right?

I plugged in 30 minutes on the treadmill, set it to display pace instead of mph, put my headphones on with solarmix2.... and BAM! Clocked the first mile in at just under 9 minutes, listening to Korn and Mudvayne and Slipknot, bands that yes, being a 45 y.o. mom, I DON'T need my teenage son to tell me about.

Once SOAD came on, I had upped the speed to numbers starting with 7's -- I had no idea they went that low! Second mile came in under 9 m/m as well (slowing down to "rest run" at 9:10 m/m? that's usually the 10 m/m point for me outdoors).

Finished with 3:45 to spare on the countdown timer, which means I did 3 miles in 26:15. 8:45 m/m pace. I think that warrants a dancing banana or two, no?

Ah, what the heck, one more.

woohoo!!

Oh, and good runs to everyone, and now I'm going to be late for teaching, yikes!

Running partner's knee was really sore this morning,so we ran/walked for 3 miles untimed...He's also the guy I watch football with so I have to take care of him ...

Mariposai I see you are running the NODM,but I ran that one last year and I think it would be a tough course to BQ on...Mind you a BQ is tough on any course...

Good morning. Mariposai's butterfly hugs reminds me of how I always liked to give my boys butterfly kisses when tucking them in at night (fluttering eyelashes on their cheeks.) Sure been a long time since I've done that!

Mcsolar, the good news about your shoulder pain is it's got you off the hook in the Pushup Challenge.

Rest day for me

30 min miscellaneous stretching, push-ups (2 x 20), etc.
30 min Pilates class

3 day weekend for me -- YAY!

Drive by post to report that I did, as suggested by mc, 3 x 2 miles w/ 2:30 recovery. Two hours might have been just enough to recover, but I made it through just OK.

Take care, Boomers

Peter and Bill, just lemme know if you need a pinch in the morning to get your sleepy ashes up.
Nice going, OM. Keep the solarmix2 toons away from your rainbow yoga mats or they could spontaneously combust!
Opie, La T, Labduck ... not so EZ when there are only three or so middlemen/women in the country from which to get this sort of work. Sorry for the rant yesterday; something I've gotta sort out.
Great to see ksrunr and his shoe. Look forward to reading the RR.

Supposed to be a rest day here too. I'll probably join hally for that walk -- I kinda feel like getting in the pool, though, but, hmm butterfly hugs -- and get some pushups in too because, thanks to Skip, the men are gaining, wimmins. (Drop and do 60, hally!!!)

Good luck to the racers this weekend!!!

ETA: Sound, take care of yourself and let us know what's up. Don't be doing any crazee RTB "cures"!!!

Hi everyone,
Another nice workout for me this morning. I did 1 mile total of w/u and c/d, with 3 miles running. Then 20 mins of good long stretching. I feel great now. It's a good way to start off the official weekend, even if work is really slamming me now. Unfortunately, I do have to work on Monday.

Another just quick post.. busy at work..

Tory felt like running and I felt like running but once we started running, my legs didn't feel like it, even for a slow recovery run. By the 4th mile of 4 I threw in 3 strides (run like H#ll for 25 secs then back to normal) and the legs felt powerful and then smooth . Ended feeling great. I guess that's what recovery runs are all about!

right pain even less this morning, so it continues to improve. at this rate it will just be a memory by sunday.

while helping protosun put on her seat belt this morning, i pulled something on the left side of my neck, which yesterday was known as the "loose side". can barely turn my head now...

so ok, no more posting about these recovery aches and pain. you can all just assume that i'm a wreck for this next week too.

choovie, i'm aiming for your push-up point total plus 10 per day. starts after lunch... i'll do them with one shoulder, or no shoulders if need be.

Hello all,
I am joining the resting crowd, too. I was too tired to get into the daily thread yesterday, but I had one of my multiple workout days, with a 2.3mi brisk walk, 40min strength then master swim class in the evening. I will have to do an overhaul on my workout sched to spread thing out a little more evenly.
Today I am planning to rest (hi, mari!), have a massage and donate blood.
Hope that ankle is healing up well, millbot.
Great runnig, OM!
You have a tough life JJJ! Enjoy the movie.
Soos, don't apologize for the rant because then I might have to about some of my rants. I love my job today because I may have indirectly saved my client's life. Her hubby has been threatening to kill her and came pretty close about a month ago. That's about all I can say. She now has a 3-year Victim's Protective Order and he was escorted from the court by the deputy.

No running today so I'm in line for my butterfly hug to help me work my marathon magic.
