Morning kickstars.

10 miles along the bay front this morning. 93 heat index at 6 a.m. this morning. jtwili Watch battery wasn't charged enough and it gave up at mile 1. So it was untimed which is just fine. Only ran 20 miles this week in 3 runs. Can't remember when I've run so little in a week or even for a month. Have to start getting back into the groove next week.

Running a 4 mile race Monday but am just going to run it based on how I feel. I have lost fitness over the last 6 weeks due to this heat and training. So I'm not ready to race it. I'm going to run slow enough to enjoy it and run with a different crowd.

Mike sorry to hear about your car. You need to take it back and tell them it's a lemon and get another. Change your luck?

Happy Feat, I like that hat too! All we sell in the store are the Nike ones, but it looks like the Brooks' styling might be superior. I'll mention it to my manager...

Johnny, thanks for the heads' up with that article! I'm an hour and a half north of that area, so I doubt the escapee would get that far...

13 miles yesterday, which puts me at 36.25 miles for the week. I might go out today and round up to 40, just because. Or maybe I'll just rest. :)

Interesting musings there, KS. So what type was I today? After sleeping late this morning, I did finally get out this afternoon. I walked 1.4 miles to my friend's house, ran 4 recovery-paced miles with her while we chatted and caught up over the past month's events, then walked 1.4 miles home. I think because I sandwiched the run between the two walks, my legs felt good throughout the run. I think the extra sleep helped too.

Tomorrow MrOM is running in a local 5k and I'm looking forward to watching and cheering him on. I'm very happy not to be having any race-induced stresses these days. In fact, aside from the two long runs I've done with MrOM yesterday and two weeks ago, I haven't even wanted to run with anyone else, lest the distraction of company would keep me from being able to fully listen to my body as I run. Running with my friend today, I had to remind her at least twice to keep the pace nice and slow. I suppose that regardless of what type running I am, I know how to be happy in my own skin. :)
