Morning Gang -

Mindi - 75 mile weeks will make your legs tired! Take it easy this week!

I got 7 miles done w/ 6 hill repeats mixed in. The good news is the repeats felt easier this week. Woot!

Yipee for BigG registering for Twin Cities! Jen is also looking at Twin Cities. I'm for sure doing it. Anyone else?

Hmmm, I would seriously consider TCM if: (1) I wasn't already registered for Chicago; and (2) I didn't have such a brutally horrible miserable race there in 2007. I guess I really need to get over #2.

Yeah, I am taking it easy this week - relatively speaking anyway. I will run to GOTR and back tonight to get 4+ more miles in and hold off on my intervals until tomorrow night. Then I will do a mini taper for my 10K Saturday. I don't know why, but I am really excited about this upcoming race. I've never run it before, but I feel like I am primed to have a super strong race. Fingers crossed that everything aligns for me.

(((((Coach T))))) - that sucks. I hope it is nothing too serious.

BigG - woot - TCM and GRM? Love it! Unlike #2 above, I had one of my best races ever (if not the best race ever) in Grand Rapids a couple weeks after crappy TCM. Unfortunately, I did not know the Parkers then though.

I hope Jen feels better soon....

Cindi - yay for hill repeats. They hurt, but are oh so good. Good luck with your new training schedule!

Who else am I missing? (((()))))){{{{{}}}} and mojo to everyone else just because it's Tuesday.

morning

4 recovery yesterday - well, it was too fast due to who I was running with but it felt fine.

Today is speed work

1 x 2 mile at interval

10 min recovery

1 x 1 mile at faster than interval

7 min recovery

400 at fast but controlled

cool down

I'll be doing it alone due to plans tonight so we'll see how fast I can get myself to go without chasing. At least it is supposed to be nice out :)

TCM - not for me. I am registered for the Liverpool marathon but am not so sure about goal etc. on that right now. I will be here to cheer though :)

Nettie registered for TCM yesterday too! I have also committed to a Trail Mix relay in 2 weeks. I might regret that one. heh. Mojo continue to floweth. I brought my running duds and will run on the mill over my lunch hour. It's a beautiful day and I'd like to run outside but I know I have a full docket after work. Shopping for a NEW COMPUTER! Yeeha!

Shoe Whisperer: OK, so she's out 'til May, but the other people there think they can do as good a job? Is that correct? I guess since I'm going to be up there in a couple weeks for this Trail Mix run I may as well schedule an appointment. I do need new shoes.

Good morning ladies. I had a good three mile run this morning. Boy what a difference in running in 40 degrees today as opposed to 70 on Saturday. For a time I thought I was going to have one of those "listen to your body" days. During mile one both knees felt squirrely. But a short time later one knee felt fine and then the other was good to go. I'm glad I did not stop. Guess the old bones just needed to warm up a bit hehe.

I am also trying to convince myself of the reality that I am back and active. My mind is telling me that I am not officially back as a runner until I complete the 10k. Bull. The hard work that I am doing now counts. Every day is confirmation that I am out, active and trying to make a positive difference in my health. I'm there already! Deal with it brain- the body is in motion!

2.25 miles for me this morning. My week is getting clobbered, but I'll figure out how to squeeze everything in some how.

I'm resisting all this race talk, even though the potential meet ups are tempting!

Morning all and nice job with the runs already logged. I was so good last night, packed up my breakfast & lunch and snacks, got myself to bed early and then proceeded to wake up at least 3 times for no reason at all, just lying there awake and wishing I was sleeping. Phooey! Thus I couldn't quite get up this morning for my run; I'm so mad at myself but don't have anything going on this evening and will get it done then.

Good luck w/that workout Brandy!

Looks like TCM will be the place to be in Fall 2011. Too bad I've already been there. Well, at least I did have a good time.

Coach, I hope we see you around a bit more...

Nice morning runs, folks.

I just did an easy 20 minutes last night. I was hoping for a little more than that today, but it might not happen. I had a doc appt this morning, so I came into work late. Which means I'll probably have to stay late. Which means I won't have time for a run before I have to pick up the kiddo. Oh well. I suppose I can sneak in a run late at night, but I seem to never do that when I threaten to, so I won't etch it into the log just yet...

BigG - while you are scheduling runs, consider putting Dances with Dirt in Baraboo on your schedule. I think craney is also doing it.

Marier - don't beat yourself up too much. Sometimes it is well worth it to sleep in after a night like that.

This happens to me all the time. Don't worry about it too much, just be flexible and get in a good run when you can. Enjoy.
Yeahbut didn't Afton break Sage? My option seems much more friendly.

I'm for sure doing Afton - LUV that race. The shirt was super awesome.

Trail Mix (bigG), you'll be fine. It isn't even close to Afton. No meatgrinder on that baby

Forgot to post that DD (7th grade) was told yesterday she will run the mile at the first JV track meet Thursday. Since they are in middle school, Wednesday practice with the JV and Varsity team was optional. DD and 2 other middle schoolers showed up, so coach told them they get to run JV til the middle school meets start. DD is SUPER nervous about pacing. It's on an indoor track. I told her not to go all out and just to run based on feel (comfortably hard, if there is such a thing) for the first 3 laps, then to give it everything she has the last lap. Any other pacing ideas for her?

Also - she's told me that I can't come to the meet because I will make her way too nervous. Thoughts on whether I should respect that or go anyway? (She said the same thing about cross country meets last year and so I only went to one and I regret that I listened to her and didn't go).

Tha pacing info sounds pretty good. As for the other... I would go and just make sure she doesn't see you until after it's all over.

I agree. You should show up, but hang out in the woodwork until she's done.
