I'll tell you why I do. It's kind of like a group run and great therapy. In the dead of winter or heat of summer if I'm not part of a group I can come up with all kinds of reasons not to get my run in.

Since I'm not in a group running club at the moment, VRAA fills that niche. Yesterday I went flying out the door at 6:30am to run two times around Stone Mountain starting at 7:00. It was somewhat humid and I was only going to do 10 miles and stop. But because I wanted 8 extra points for my team as well as myself I did two extra miles, including some extra hill work when I was sorely tempted to run the Mountain in the direction that offered the least hills in my final three miles.

And then later that night I got in some alternative exercise (weights, push ups) to add more points. I definitely would not have done the alternative exercise last night without involvement in VRAA. Nor would I be contemplating cycling at the gym this afternoon prior to meeting some of my relatives for barbecue later today.

Even when VRAA is not in session I catch myself counting up my miles and points (somewhat like weight watchers for those into that).

VRAA is already in session this month but join us in the next one even if you are only doing minimal exercise or want to be a little more consistent in your exercising. Watching the leaderboards and team standings even when struggling in last keeps you motivated. And inputting your points puts other forms of exercise (such as cycling and weights for me) in your mind that one otherwise might not be paying attention to.
