GO Maria! So jealous you and Kath and Roots and SGH get to hang out this weekend! Hello to everyone!

Who else is racing? I need to catch up.

After work and after helping my sister and her family get on the road to Florida, I set out later yesterday afternoon for a long run. Ended up with 16 miles. It was chilly, and I didn't really fuel for it, but I just wanted to keep running. I finally stopped when I couldn't feel my hands and I was hungry.

4 easy miles this morning, and now I'm heading to work.

At least (last I checked) it's supposed to be dry for Marier tomorrow.

Yes, and I'm glad for that since I'm volunteering, LOL! Last year it was raining all day. I had to wear a rain suit and got pretty muddy.

Ten miles done. We did an out and back from one end of campus, to my office and back. We set one garmin for 3 minute run/1 minute walk intervals and used one to track the whole run. We stayed pretty close to those walk breaks and ended up with 10.01 in 2:19:50. Overall I'm pretty happy with everything. And pretty ready for a nap now:)

Nice work Amy!!!

BARD!!! What time will you arrive tomorrow? Your shift starts at 11, right?

Lloyd tells me there will be a bonfire at the starting area. I hope it's BIG. We can always go for a bit of a hike, but I don't want to miss Marier at 12.5.

morning

Bob - toughen up man!! You need to come back and visit us in January and then you will relish running in the mid 20s :)

Hard w/o this morning. 3 x 5k at GRP on a HILLY course. I wanted to run 9s and ended up with everything but 1 F*ing one under 9. 12 miles today with w/u and c/d. Yikes. Shooting for 13 tomorrow. i will surely need the foam roller today and some extra calories. I had a turkey bacon egg white sammich and a skim capp. after the run but I already burned through those and I am starving. I'll need to eat something before my nap :)

Nice running today Lora, Amy, and Brandy!

There was some race going on today down the path that I usually run on, not sure what it was but there were volunteers dressed like fruit and vegetables. A large bunch of grapes and a pea pod were directing traffic at the intersection I was at.

Good luck, Maria! Count me in on the group of envious 30's - sounds like a fun get together!

I did my 8:00 Pilates Foundation class - this is the third in a series of 8 classes instructing the basics/foundation of Pilates. It runs through April 30. I've never been into Pilates, not sure that this is going to change things but it's interesting. The foundation class is a prerequisite to the reformer series of classes which is prerequisite to using the reformers. Maybe I'd like Pilates on the reformers better. And I did a Pilates Mat class after the instructional class. I cannot do a roll up. Period. Even the 87 year old woman in the class could do a roll up, but not me. pffft.

Going to walk Pico Freako in the brisk sunny air for a while.

Nice work Amy and Brandy!

Yup, I am jealous of the meet-up too. Have a great time and run like the wind Marier!

I don't think I could be much happier right now. It is super cold and windy here, but we had an awesome race this morning! I wasn't sure what to expect since I had a nasty side-stitch during my warm-up and the boys were running their first race for the year (and thus the first time they were running at all other than playing soccer, basketball or football). But we took some names, ya'll! :)

James ran a 28:15 and won a sweet pair of socks in the raffle. Jake ran a 29:3x and only stopped to walk once. John ran with Jake, but finished a few seconds behind him since Jake throws on the afterburners for the finish and no one can catch him.

I ran the 10K in 44:58 and was first female. Granted, it was a tiny race and there were probably only 5-6 other women, but a win is a win, no? Woot. I hit the 5K just over 22 and was hoping to negative split and PR or at least come close to it, but the second half was into a nasty headwind and I was fighting hard, but just couldn't keep the pace. No worries though, I'll take it. This is my fastest 10K in 2 years.

You may have already seen these on FB, but I'll repost anyway because I like them. I am so proud of my boys too. They were they only kids out there braving the weather and running their little hearts out.

Nice runs, Amy, Brandy & Mindi!

As for my run, the good news is that the Garmin made it all the way thru. I guess it can only hold a charge for so long, whether it's on or not.

The better news is that I made it all the way thru my run. I decided to stop with 23.6 miles. As you guys know, yesterday I had toyed with the idea of going for 26.2+. But I decided against it. I'm racing a HM next weekend, so I thought maybe I shouldn't push myself too much today. I was really consistent for 16 miles today, then I got a little erratic for the next 4. After 20, I turned uphill and into the wind, and that basically sucked all the life out of me. I more or less limped home for the last 3.6 miles, but hey they got done. I'm sure I could've done the last two and a half miles if I really needed to. But I didn't, so I didn't. Heck, I'm sure I could've suffered thru 7.5 more miles... Anyway, average pace was 9:21, which is okay...

Nice running Brandy, Amy, Solar, Bob and Mindi!

Congrats to your boys, RIL!!!

Good luck Maria!!!

5 early, sunrisey miles for me this morning. I'm not sure what the weather will hold for me tomorrow, but I've got 9 planned. My running partner has already informed me that if it's snowing or raining, she's holding off until later in the day. I'm not sure that will work with my shedule, but I hate to leave her hanging.

Woot! You all are very inspiring today. Race wins, very long runs, hills, just about everything!

Today will be a TM day during some hoops game and tomorrow will be a 10 or 12 miler on the roads. My peroneal has been wanting to slide all over the place lately and is bothering me more than the achilles the last few days. Any weird little ankle motion can make it slide out of place, so I think after the marathon I'm going to ask my medical team to concentrate on that.

Hi all - went up for a good brisk hike up to the top of California Street after work yesterday. Just for reference, here's a picture of that famed slope (a cable car line regularly goes up and down this incline)

I figure if I'm not going to do any real running, I'll make my legs as strong as possible for the return.

Great job by the whole family Mindi! Good luck to our whole Fool contingent (whether it be hosting, volunteering, and/or racing) and our other racers! And here's to good fitnessing this weekend for everyone!

GO! Maria!!!

Congrats RIL and her crew for an awesome day of racing.

Atta boys to everyone who had solid runs today.

Race: I ran the 3rd annual RumpShaker today with over 3300 other people. I managed to set a :04 PR and didn't even know it until I just now looked at my log. I finished in 20:43 and it wasn't an all out effort today. I was just trying to run sub 21 and live to run 21 miles tomorrow morning. I ended up 3rd AG too! Hardware! Wade of course overalled our AG and beat me by almost 2 minutes. It was a good day.

DD and I had to get from the race to the ball park for DS's baseball game and then she had a softball game, so we're sportsed out now.

I'm going to be early. LR early in the morning.
