I have been AWOL for some time - I needed a mental break

I recently have had a nexus moment in running. After 4 years of relentless pursuit of the best flounder could be, I've decided I need to move past this phase in life and reseek life balance.

Of course after 6 weeks of no running, I know this life balance has to include a good measure of fitness (+29 pounds). Since I have paid all that money to go to Boston, that good measure of fitness will include some running for the next 7 weeks (or is it six) starting today .

After running around 5,000 miles a year for 4 years, I miss all the other fun activities used to do but never have the energy to do. Golf, Tennis, Racketball, Volleyball, Wakeboarding, Downhill skiing and so on. I am tired of looking at my friends as evil if they want to go out to eat or drink.

So my new Boston goal: 1) To meet as many KRs as possible, to enjoy the Womens' OT race, to enjoy running Boston and to get in enough shape to run the whole way.

Thank you to Richard and Alex for checking up on me! I will be back soon. I have a feeling it will be like starting to try and watch "Lost" in season #1 in the 6th episode - I am sure I have missed a lot.

I recently was very touched with the marathon communities loss of Alex Nickel age 27 of Madison WI. I ran mile 10 - 20 of the 2006 Fox Cities marathon with Alex - He was a good one.
