Safe travels and lots of luck to all our weekend racers!!! The TCM'ers, the NYC'ers, Litch (?)... who else?

Yesterday was an interesting fitness day for me. I was sweating, heart-skipping, and adrenaline pumping. And that was all for just a few minutes of running.

Super duper safe vibes for all of the travelers today. Armageddon kinda weather out there this morning. No run this AM, because of it. May try to get in 3 +/- tonight.

Still undecided on Sunday's HM. Depends on how much stuff I get done around the house tomorrow. Many hours of picking up branches I am assuming, plus some more fall planting, and an MRI on my toe\foot.

Good luck to the MSP crew, Missy and Maria, and anyone I forgot.

So excited for the MSP peeps and esp Missy! (Woot to you too Maria!) Is Colleen running something this weekend?

I've got my 5K on Sunday. I've never run before with a fundraising team, I wonder if we'll get our pic taken with Doug Flutie? (it's his autism foundation's race.) This is my first race this OBX...been a long time.

Hoping for another short run tonight. I'm just so pleased to be getting out there again.

No fitness activities for me lately, and none planned for the immediate future. Gotta let the bod heal up... plus I have a cold. ~

Good luck to our weekend racers! Hope to hear lots of good stuff from the TCM get-together, as well!

5M for me on the TM last night. It was cool enough to open the side door of the workout room to let cool air in. Pippin was amused as he could go out in the fenced yard while I ran. Though I wasn't amused when my white dog came back in with a Georgia-red-clay rump and paws, from running around/sitting in the dirt. Goofy dog.

Will get another 5 tonight or tomorrow. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with 10 on Sunday.

Maureen - Yah for the race. I'm so happy that YOU are happy about getting back into running!

Spring race? I'd love a meet-up if it works out!

Litch - Hope the MRI gives some direction for recovery.

Does frantically running around the house picking up for house guests count as fitness? Didn't think so.

My 5K is tomorrow as well, so I'm not sure what (if anything) I will do today.

Spring race - I'm tentatively plotting my revenge on the Flying Pig, but will gladly substitute for a meet up if the dates work out.

I still have a wicked head cold too.

In honor of all of our TCM racers, I decided to sleep in and participate in an honorary taper. Oooof, I have been a slacker this week.

I feel like a slacker this week too. The constant rain all week put a damper on my run schedule - HA!

But the plus side, is that I did start P90X again this week. Weights only - I'm continuing with my am running, so am not doing the cardio dvds this time. I think it will keep things more manageable. It has become clear that as I creep toward 40, I need to increase my muscle mass in order to be able to eat anything.

Good luck and good times for all our racers this weekend! Have fun everyone!

Oh.. spring races: I forgot to mention: I'm already committed to the Mercedes event in Al in February, and the Georgia event (formerly known as the GA ING) in March, but I'm certainly open to a meeting with the 3'0's peeps somewhere!

Morning. Little seven miler last night. Skipped the morning run. Looked at my running log and saw where I was at and decided to be lazy yesterday. I'm very content on where my mileage is at.

Somehow got up at 530 to run today. Maybe it was the idea of running with girls that got me out of the door. Just an easy three 'round the lake. Probably take Bob out around the lake again tonight before the game.

2011 Eugene Marathon/Half - This is looking very likely for me next year.

Moe - Good luck on your adventure back into road racing!

morning all,

I did a late evening workout on the track last night after DS soccer practice.

The workout was 8 miles w 5 x 800m / 400m recoveries. Goal pace for the 800s was 6:31 mpm. I was a skitch quicker than that on all 5. Ended up woth 800s that measured a bit long at .51 miles in 3:13, 3:13, 3:14, 3:16; 3:17.

I think my head cold is now a bit in my chest. Yuck. That's not good for next week's marathon. I hope it moves out before then.

Looking forward to hearing all about our TCM runners.

Ailarie - we'll have to met up when you come in town for Mercedes. It's a huge weekend here locally. All of my training friends will be in the 1/2 or the full. Plus, I'm going to have a full house of family who will be racing: My dad in the 1/2, my brother in the full, my SIL in the 1/2, me in the full. @ Mercedes, I think I'm going to be pacing a group of women who want to break 3:30.

Ooooo, I like the sounds of this! I'm on the hunt for something to aim for after NYC but not too late in the spring. Then again Eugene is on the must list as well.
