good morning Heather and Bob!

Up early for 9 rocking miles, 5 at tempo pace. Felt.so.good.

RFTL, read your post about Chris McDougall this morning. Glad you enjoyed his talk. I hear you on getting back to the basics. That is exactly what I did these last couple months by entering my two trail races, running trails with a group and ditching my watch. Just trying to make it fun again. It totally works. I'm starting to feel re-energized.

Nice tempo run Jill! Awesome way to start the day.

Heather - I don't even know what Kundalni is, but it sounds hard!

Bob - you probably still need a bit of down time from your 87.4% marathon last weekend.

I'm trying to put together blog entry now on take-aways from his talk. Very energizing. And not sure if it's because I was rested (took yesterday off) or because I incorporated his principles, but this morning for my intervals I didn't look at my watch, didn't think about trying to hit the paces and just thought about how FUN it was and how good it felt. And voila they were fun AND the paces were great (6:56, 6:54, 6:51, 6:58, 7:09; whereas when I tried to do intervals on Tuesday and I was looking at my garmin and thinking about the paces I struggled and couldn't even manage 7:20 pace!)

So - 8 miles for me this morning with 5 x 700ish repeats. So fun!

Good runs to all today!

Morning all! I'm jamming a bunch in this morning before heading on a Bolt Bus to Boston, meeting some of my RTB teammates and then continuing on to NH. Squeezed in a 5 miler finishing with 6x strides. Gotta continue the packing and some work stuff and showering, yes showering!

Great fast stuff Jill & Cindi!

Heather - glad to hear yoga is working out well for you, what are master poses?

You know, beginner, intermediate, master...So even though I hadn't ever done kundalini yoga before the session I signed up for is Intermediate. Last night she had us doing these crazy hard poses which she indicated were master poses. I've done hatha and ashtanga for years but the kundalini is really amazing. Incorporating the different breathing techniques makes for a more powerful workout which is balanced by the meditations and chants.

I can't wait to get out and run today. It looks like its going to be another beautiful day. It feels great to be getting some sort of workout in almost every day again. My body is loving all the exercise.

I got up early this morning, packed all my stuff for the gym, work, and then work at the running store. Gonna be a long day, so lots to pack. Walked out of my house at 5am to head to the gym for a shoot-me-now elliptical workout, and promptly locked myself out of my house. No car keys or house keys in hand. F*CK! I have a tank top and shorts on, the weather has decided to turn cooler (finally!) and it's like 50-something degrees out, and I'm standing on my front porch with no way to get in my house or drive anywhere. Now, if I were running, I'd just go for a run and then text my neighbor around 6 for my spare key (for some reason I felt like 6am would be a more acceptable time to do this). But I can't run yet. So I texted my sister, hoping she was getting up early to run. Whew. She was. I walked a bit - maybe 15 mins or so -- until she was dressed and drove over to my house to give me my spare key. At that point it was 5:45 and I had to decided what to do. I headed to the gym anyway and got 25 mins on the elliptical - just enough time to work up a tiny sweat session -- and then showered and headed to work in lightning speed. Better than nothing, but what a way to start the day.

Hola folks. 3m on the Tm last night. I'm going to ditch spinning and go with another 3 miler tonight. Woke up this Am to sore knees (both) and a sore left elbow. Elbow?! Wtf. Knees I can understand, but an elbow?! Weird. Hopefully it all disappears soon though. I have a half on Sunday, damnit!

I made pies this morning, so no time to run. I'll either run on the TM after class tonight or double up in the morning.

Lora - that stinks. Glad your sister was around!

After 3 days of no running, I got up early and headed out for a run. I only made it a mile though because I felt like I had to pee really badly the whole time. The last couple of days I have felt like that (non-stop urgency to pee), so I am afraid I may have a UTI. I am waiting for the dr's office to call me back. No pain or anything, but boy is it annoying (and embarrassing) to have to pee every 15 minutes. Gah. (BTW, sorry for TMI).

On a fun note - I am thinking about joining a couple of my friends and doing a yoga class on Sunday evenings for 5 weeks. I've never done yoga before and it sounds pretty fun - especially to do a class with friends. It starts this Sunday. Check this out peeps, I am mixing things up for a change! I am even surprising myself.

Yay Missy!

Ailarie, have you been doing a lot of Spinning? How is your posture when you spin? Are you keeping your elbows and shoulders relaxed, or are you tense? Have you been fitted by the instructor for the bike (to make sure you're sitting in the proper position)? Sounds like maybe you were too tense/rigid through your arms in Spinning and hyperextended your elbow, or maybe your seat wasn't adjusted properly.

Or maybe you just slept weird.

morning all

Last night's run did not go well. The warm up around the lake was ok but I was in trouble right away in the hills. The past couple of days I have had heartburn I guess (at least that it what it sounds like~I have never had it before) and it made it hard to get up those hills. I just couldn't get enough air. The trail was slick as all get out due to earlier storms. We got to the potential turn around pt and opted to go around the lake vs. the prairie hill as that took us a shorter route, less mud than just turning around, had a water fountain AND there was the rec center there in case the storms looming really hit hard. The temp dropped at least 10 degrees those last few miles and the wind was howling. Felt like NOV except for the thunder and lightning. boo

felt sick all night afterwards as well and my shin hurts
