I got up early this morning, packed all my stuff for the gym, work, and then work at the running store. Gonna be a long day, so lots to pack. Walked out of my house at 5am to head to the gym for a shoot-me-now elliptical workout, and promptly locked myself out of my house. No car keys or house keys in hand. F*CK! I have a tank top and shorts on, the weather has decided to turn cooler (finally!) and it's like 50-something degrees out, and I'm standing on my front porch with no way to get in my house or drive anywhere. Now, if I were running, I'd just go for a run and then text my neighbor around 6 for my spare key (for some reason I felt like 6am would be a more acceptable time to do this). But I can't run yet. So I texted my sister, hoping she was getting up early to run. Whew. She was. I walked a bit - maybe 15 mins or so -- until she was dressed and drove over to my house to give me my spare key. At that point it was 5:45 and I had to decided what to do. I headed to the gym anyway and got 25 mins on the elliptical - just enough time to work up a tiny sweat session -- and then showered and headed to work in lightning speed. Better than nothing, but what a way to start the day.
