I don't know what Powerflex is, but it scares me.

I had a nice run last night in my favorite hilly neighborhood. 7.4 slow miles. I'll take it. I'll probably hit the gym tonight for some easy lifting then a quick spin on the TM.

Hmm, I have a marathon in less than 3 weeks so I should probably be tapering now, eh? Geez, I've put very little planning into this training cycle...

Gooooood morning all! I'm feeling great after the run/yoga/run combo last night, part of it was surely do to our 60* weather. Ended up with 6.35 mi and 90 mins of yoga. Tonight I'm meeting up with some of the speed crew but probably not for any speed, likely an easy going run w/the possibility of some hill repeats.

Everyone coming back to the game or tightening up their training - keep up the great work!!!!! Laying the foundation now is a strong way to start 2011.

No fitness here today, unless you count walking through airports as such. Got a last-minute massage yesterday after work, but not from my typical massage therapist who was all booked up. When substitute CMT asked if I wanted more pressure and I said yes, the dude laughed and said, "Oh yeah, Jen R. (there are two CMTs named Jen in the office) mentioned you really liked deep pressure." Hmmmm...I guess I must be a masochist at heart

Speaking of Jens, Jen - great pic of you and the DH there yesterday!

Not sure what to make of the weather forecast the Turkey Trot me and bard are going to do - high 30s, rain, winds steady 15 mph. Might literally freeze this spoiled Californian's ass off

Anyway, good runs, workouts or rest days to you all

Welcome to the midwest from November until about mid-March.

Leg circuits for me tonight. The motivation for a run just wasn't there this morning. But I'll be able to make it up tomorrow morning before we head to Cincy (not really that excited about the trip).

QOD - I think so. There is a brand new 5 K this year near me that is a fundraiser for the family of my cop friend that was killed over the summer. Was just planning out what goes in the oven when, and looking at the schedule for the run.

Hola - Just got back from a lunch run of 8 miles on a very nice fall day. I feel pretty good after Philly - would have run a few yday but didn't have time nor motivation. I'm racing the T Day 10k here again with low expectations - there is one jerkoff I'd like to beat and the rest, I don't care about. To me, that race is usually just about earning an extra ladel of gravy!

Not really. I haven't exactly trained up a storm lately, so I know I won't be challenging the PR I just set in Minnesota. So basically, I just want to finish this one and cross off another state. I suppose I'll shoot for 4 hours. It's a nice round number, and I think I can handle that pace. I might purposely go out really slow so that I can get a negative split. Although I've come close a few times, I've only done a negative split in one marathon -- the one in Wyoming. And I don't really even count that, because I basically fell downhill for a few miles at the end, and just happened to fall faster than what I did going up. Here's the elevation profile for that race, so you can see that the terrain really did more for the negative split than I did:

QOD: I'm not ready to race yet, or I'd do the TT I did last year -- which is on Saturday. If I felt more confident in my calf already, I'd do it, but there's no need to force stuff at this point... nice and easy return to running :)

Today - I'll run a few miles after work and then I'm going back to the yoga studio for another class with the same instructor from the other night. Looking forward to it!

QOD: I had wanted to run the Berbee Derbee with my son, but he doesn't want to. I don't really blame him as it it supposed to be freezing and super windy. If the forecast improves, I'll go solo and run the 5K. Otherwise, I'll continue my slacker patterns and sleep in. I am SO looking forward to a 4 day weekend.
