Starting tomorrow (May 1) I am thinking of making it a "detox month." I haven't finalized the plan yet, but am thinking rather than taking any potions or pills, simply cutting out refined carbs, sugar, diet soda, sugar-free gum, drinking more water, and meditating every day.

Anyone else want to do a version of a spring cleanse for them?

So no one is brave enough to rise to the challenge?

I normally would be completely up for this -- but I am just coming off a 6 week detox of (mainly) no added sugars and sodium and all fresh foods. I need at least a week with sugars and sodium before I can go back...

I've been cutting back on the refined sugar I eat (I mean the amount I put in coffee and tea, etc.) but really, I like my sugars, fats and refined foods, so I don't know if I would really want to do it enough to stick to it.

About the best I could do is get more water, probably. I'm not good at that and it's worth improving.

A little late, but I am with you, sgh. I was waiting until 6 weeks post partum (today) before buckling down. So far so good. Of course, it's only 10 am. Heh.

Welcome, jebba. You are completely inspiring with your post-pregnancy working out and safe weight loss efforts! It's good to hear that it can be done. Sounds like you'll be back in your old clothes before long.

Spring cleaning is going well so far. I haven't missed anything except the occasional soda, which is weird because normally that's what I'd crave the least.

Mmm, sparkling mineral water. Good idea. Soda's carbonation feels good on my tongue, but usually causes me to bloat. I don't think sparkling water does the same thing.
