"Fish and Company stink after three days" That's good Johnny; I'm going to steal that line.

HappyFeat - Nice eagle sighting. Are you sure it wasn't sizing you up for a meal?

Hey you's guys! I just got home last night from an incredible almost-two-weeks away. Newport was awesome (Johnny, I sure hope you didn't make the trip because we didn't see you!), although Mariposai and RasmussenMP both thought it was too hot. We've been "hot" here for some time now (not ksrunr hot, but certainly warmer and drier than Oregon/WA this spring!) so my last couple of big training weeks were mostly in the 70's. I ran a good race, even with some foot cramping in the last few miles but still pulled off a 3:30:49. I figure at least one of those walk breaks in the later miles cost me the clean 3:30, but I'll take it as an almost 2 minute PR marathon.

Sunday I met DH at the Portland airport, and we spent the next several days in Scottsdale where I ran most every day in low 90's. Amazing how it didn't feel that "hot," but I sure did get thirsty. On Thursday we headed up to Flagstaff, where I ran 5.3 miles of hills, peaking at 7,300 feet. That was interesting, and not as hard as I thought it would be. Friday we went up to the Grand Canyon where we hiked part of the Kaibab Trail before heading off to Four Corners on our way to Jemez Springs, NM. Sunday we drove back to Phoenix, overnighted and caught the plane back to home thru Portland again, getting home at midnight. I was up early and on a plane again on Tuesday for two days of meetings in Anchorage, got home last night. Today is my first day back in the office in ages, and my head is still spinning! Not much running this week, but that's ok.

No mc sightings. We didn't make it to Tucson even though that's where DH went to school and I'm sure he would've loved to have gone back. Just not enough time. Hardware? Oh... you must be talking about my first in AG from Newport! Yeah, that was pretty cool. Beautiful hand-made glass medals, too. Very nice race all around. I didn't have any oysters though. bleh.
