My six year old and I were riffing on this topic the other day, coming up with ideas for t.v. shows. I was thinking about a washing machine or dryer with a glass door. DD suggested a show with people walking by on a sidewalk.

I'd watch people walking by on a sidewalk. I like people watching. Is that weird?

Anyway, the dryer show would be cozy and soothing.

How about an aquarium channel?

People travel miles and pay huge bucks to stare at glass cages with aquatic creatures flitting about behind it, and watching fish swimming about is very calming. Heaven knows all the costs involved to maintain your own fish tank. You could probably get to a wider variety of sea life to look at than you ever could at home, and with HDTVs coming into vogue, voila - instant home aquarium.

Ironically, what made me think of this was one of those same aquariums - in Kuala Lumpur, they had HD screens at the convention center with shots of swimming sea life you could see if you visited the aquarium located within. I figure I got as good a show from those TV screens as I could actually paying my money to go inside
