Hi all!

Was supposed to be in the gym right now, in the middle of my first planned interval session of the year, but at around 4 am I remembered that there's a morning telecon with my boss and I have to get a few things done before I talk to her. Drat!

Will run after work instead.

What's shakin' for the Kickmasters today?

Lucky for you Tom you have products on the shelf to eliminate those problems.

Hi Heme. Drat work!!

HappyFeat - Even though she found nothing "wrong"; it still hurts when I run. I'm taking a anti inflammatory and I have tightness from middle of hamstring to middle lower back just on the left hurting side. Just want it to be right when I start up again.

Thanks for heads up Tom. I was wondering why I hadn't noticed much of anything yet. She wanted me to take them for a month but don't think I'll take them near that long; maybe a week; maybe 2 weeks at most.

HappyFeat - my sympathy about the late night work..... but eating popcorn and drinking wine seems wrong to me, particularly for someone living in wine country.

KS - I felt like I was kidnapped. The positive spin on the unhappy period is that my projects are still in good shape, I'm still employed, my boss thinks I earn my salary, and the young up-and-coming foks I'm working with seem to think I know more than they do.

Today was BRISSSSKKKK!!!, windy with a high temperature of 24F. I ran 5 miles with some 200M strides.

Hi TW, KS and PT!

2 mile easy W/U, 3X 0.75 miles at 8:48 min/m with 1/4 mile walk/jog recovery, 1 mile C/D

6 mile total.

Everything OK during, even the barky foot, but calf after feels like it needs a good massage.

Greetings, Masterfuls.

The young ones think you're smart, PT? That is a neat trick, my friend.

I gave it a rest today. Worked late last night and it was 7 degrees when I awoke. Seemed like a good off-day to stay in. Flung the dumbbells around for a bit.

Good runs, all

I know - should be a crime, huh? I agree, it seems to distort the flavor of the wine; but I consider it a "lite" dinner - zero fat, zero salt (although plenty of no-calorie butter spray).

So, KS - good plan. You'll always be older and wiser than me

7 degrees, Baba! I can't imagine! Who knows what would have happened if you tried to go out an run in that cold! Here it was 50 at 6 a.m. this morning - also unheard of usually.

8 miles for me tonight.

The regular crew is expanding a bit. Where's Liam and Johnny today?

This is supposed to be an easy week and for the most part it has been. My ITband has simmered down

and my legs were ready for the first run of the year. I just got on the treadmill and went. I progressed on the pace

to end the first hour with exactly 8 miles. Started the second hour with no idea how far to go but I didn't want to go

really hard. I started at 7:13 pace and did that for 4 miles. I went to 7:08 pace for another couple miles. I didn't stop to

drink any water so I was starting to get a little dehydrated and tired. Decided to go one more mile at 7:30 pace and call it a

run. Total was 15 miles in 1:50:44 for a 7:22 pace.
