Final Friday Fun for July

Morning - I am working from home today, because I water system stopped working last night. I was an electrical issue that I fixed, but still want to get it checked out, so it does not happen again. That goes under the NOT fun category.
 
Weekend plans?

I am headed to Goshen, IN to spend the weekend with a group of friends. This means a 4+ hour drive after work from where I am to where they are. Should be fun, though.

FUN! I have the day off and I'm getting ready to go camping with C! We went out to eat last night and then shopping for our camping stuff. 
 
not fun: it's raining.
 
FUN! It's only supposed to rain to day and then be nice all weekend!
FUN! I am not at work!!!!! Oh I mentioned that, but it's really REALLY a happy FUN thing. 
 
So far my fun is outweighing my not fun. Yea!
 
Yesterday was way too much Not Fun - no gory details because you all might be eating breakfast and yes, some of the details are THAT gory.

Fun: it's Friday!
So-so: It's family night at camp for DD
Not Fun: MIL is having a rough week with the chemo. Severely dehydrated and lost 12 pounds in 8 days. 
 
Weekend plans: cleaning and organizing tomorrow morning, then heading to the lake later in the day. DH's fraternity brother and his family are coming for a short visit. The fun/not fun classification is yet to be determined on that one!

Most definitely NOT fun: a woman I worked with for nearly 3 years at the BG Club was raped yesterday -- in the office. Her name is not being released, but I've narrowed it down to two potential women. Both are such nice, kindhearted people, and one is pregnant with her second child. I am in shock that this happened to someone I know. 
 
Also not fun: I got an estimate for a french drain and sump pump this morning. It's $2,000 more than I have budgeted/available for the work. 
 
So far Friday sucks ass.

Morning TGIF friends!!
 
Fun: bought little man a Play Doh burger making set last night and I think I had more fun than he did with it

More fun (and touching and special) : I was reminded yesterday why this group is so important. The lovely Kath took the time to knit a beautiful hat for my friend in the midst of chemo. It is such a touching gesture and I just know she is going to in tears when I give it to her. So thank you so much Kath, you are one of a kind!!
 
Amy many hugs and prayers to your MIL. She has a great support system and that will carry her through!
 
Alexis too many things like that going on in this area!!! I had a meeting downtown that I cancelled cause apparently there have been a crazy amount of robberies and breakins in the parking deck there.

Yikes, that is some really sucky stuff. So sorry about Amichel's MIL and Theia's co-worker.
 
SUPER FUN: I had a super, awesome, wonderful birthday. I blew out of work just after 3 and met DH for a beverage. Went home and my cousin (who is our child care provider) and sons had decked out the house. There was a big Happy Birthday sign on the garage door, and in the house there were banners and balloons (over 140) EVERYWHERE! Super fun. My MIL had sent live, fresh Maine lobsters, so we steamed 'em up and had a big feast. Then around 8, the boys left to stay overnight at a neighbors. DH and I got to watch a movie and have the house all to ourselves.

MORE FUN: DH is taking me out tonight and I hope to have a short work day. Tomorrow DH's band is playing at a big juevenile diabetes fundraiser and I am taking the boys. Sunday we head up to the Wisconsin Dells to celebrate my birthday and DS's 9th birthday. Good stuff abounds here. I hope you all have some great fun too. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/wav.gif" style="width:225px;height:33px;" title="">

Runninlaw - if you haven't been there yet, the Deer Park at Wisconsin Dells is super fun. You can see it all in less than an hour, but we spent over two hours playing. DD loved feeding the deer.

Of the three big cities we hit this summer, Philly was by far the least attractive and the one we were hassled more by panhandlers, and felt less safe in. Sorry Philly Pholks, but not a place I'm looking to return to soon.
 
Not Fun: Work starts back up on Sunday - about 3-4 hours of physicals for new fall athletes, and I have to go in today to get some of the paperwork ready and get organized.
 
Not Fun #2: the brakes on the explorer are weird, dry pavement shouldn't require the ABS to kick in, so that's going to the brake place this afternoon

Fun last night: our softball team made it to the quarterfinals. We played a doubleheader last night.

Potentially fun tonight: going to see the NEC's youth opera's production of The Magic Flute. Teenagers singing Mozart's opera? we'll see. It'll be nice to hang out with my friend Joey anyway, haven't seen him in a while.
 
Not fun: still not sleeping well. Or eating much.

Firing a bisq kiln today. Threw a big bowl first thing, but there was an air bubble so it isn't centered. (which means that one side is slightly thinner than the other side.) <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/huh.gif" title=""> Have a bunch more stuff to make today... enough to fill a kiln. Sale is a week from tomorrow and I need to get another load of stuff through.
