favorite running music

I've posted this in other forums but seem to get unsatisfactory responses (lots of rap & heavy metal recommendations) probably due to the age of the participants. Here's my question: what are your 2 or 3 favorite songs to run to? 
Here's a couple of mine to start things off: 
Your friends are tearing us apart by Eric Clapton (my favorite singer in the world) 
I run for life by Melissa Etheridge (how motivational!) 
River Deep Mountain Wide by Celine Dion (this one really gets you cooking) 
I also like a lot of motown songs.

Podcasts are MP3's (usually) that are published for free download. There are a ton of them out there talking about anything from Cars to technology to music, there is a Harry Potter mugglecast that the kids love.

I use Juice to get mine, you can use many things including iTunes but you only need an ipod if they are only in the apple format.

Lots of great suggestions!!! I favor the New Wave, Punk, Reggae, Ska categories.... While I don't listen to music when I run, I usually have songs running through my head (too often they're kids songs that end up driving me crazy!!!). If I took my MP3 player, I would probably pick longer and slower songs I can lose myself in such as: 
Velvet Underground: Oh! Sweet Nothin'; 
Cocteau Twins: Spangle Maker; 
U2: An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart; 
P.I.L.: Fat Chance Hotel; 
Bad Brains: I Luv I Jah; 
Clash: Police and Thieves; and 
Specials: Stereotypes

Riley, this is a good thread. I've gotten lots of good suggestions from it. As for my running music, it's pretty slim. I use an mp3 player at times, but I really do like to hear the birds as well as my own breathing. Not that I won't listen to music, but sometimes I think that if I'm going to be attacked I at least want to hear it coming! 
One of the "albums" I have on my mp3 is Bruce Springsteen greatest hits. I especially like Born to Run. After reading this thread, I should add some variety.

Geez I guess I should have said that. Sierra please feel free to be part of this group, it's not a private club or anything. Here's what's in my IPod: When Johnny strikes up the band-Warren Zevon, Johnny B. Goode-Chuck Berry, Johnny Can't Read-Don Henley, & that early 60's classic Johnny Angel-Shelly Fabres (sp) <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Very Happy"> What'ya expect anyway?? 
OK, in all seriousness, I never listen to music while running, I don't even own an IPod, however I did burn a CD a while back which I play loud in my truck to jack me up before a race:

Mercury Blues - David Lindley (the kick ass version, nothing like the pathetic Allen Jackson version) 
Fun Fun Fun - the Beachboys 
Old Pipeliner - Rodney Crowell 
Number 9 - Indigenous 
As one can tell from my avatar, I'm just a burned out freak from the 60's who still likes rock and roll, blues, R & B, reggae, bluegrass, americana, and I like it played loud. Where to start, Phish, Allman Bros., the Dead & their offshoots, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (seeing him next month) Robert Earl Keen, Jimmy LaFave, Fred Eaglesmith, Susan Tedeschi, Clapton, Skynyrd (the old stuff with Ronnie), Bruce Cockburn, Coco Montoya, Kasey Chambers, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, Dave Alvin, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Iris Dement, Greg Brown, the Stones, Tom Petty, John Fogerty, Fleetwood Mac (with Peter Green, not with Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham). Little Feat, Natalie Merchant, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bob Marley, Marshall Tucker Band, Neil Young, I could go on all night, but I won't.

My daughter just gave me an iPod for my birthday, so I've been looking for new music to put on it. Such fun!! 
I have lots of Bob Segar, Carly Simon, Tina Turner, Dixie Chicks, Don Henley, Jimmy Buffett, John Denver, Martina McBride, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, U2, Temptations, Melissa Ethridge, Train, and Linus and Lucy-Snoopy music! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Very Happy"> Oh, and Rupert Holmes, Bertie Higgins, The Doobie brothers, Eagles, and James Blunt.
