Yes. My 7yr old and I are going to one this evening. Last year, I didn't realize what muscles I WAS NOT using on a regular basis. After two hours of dancing the Funky Monkey, or whatever they had us doing, I definitely felt it the next morning on my long run.

I can't wait for tomorrow morning's 7 miler!

Oh my yes..... We used to have one of those every year from about age 6-12 and I loved every one of them. Then in college (women's college) they hasd a Dad and Daughter Weekend every spring and we always had the best time.

My father passed away almost 2 years ago. Boy, do I miss him.

Have a great time..... (I'm all choked up now)

Yay for daddy/daughter dances. As a senior in HS we had a special senior dance during our dance recital-we requested a formal waltz w/our dads. Imagine 12 trained dancers with 12 very untrained dads. One of my favorite memories

EVERY ache and pain. I just hope to live thru the photo barrage that my wife will put on us. It is even more special being that my DD is more like the young Threadgood girl on Fried Green Tomatoes. Dress-up opportunities are few and far between...even for weekly church!

It did kind of make me laugh when my wife confided in me, last night, how she and DD had to go buy shoes and panty hose. My little girl is growing up too fast!

I remember one Father/Daughter dance with my dad. It was Valentine's Day that year, I believe (or close to it) I was a shy kid, and the theme was 50s. My mom made my poodle skirt, etc... They had a twist contest, and my dad was really trying to get me to twist (I didn't have a clue, but he showed me). I was shy and didn't want everyone looking at me. Well, we ended up winning the contest!! I was in 3rd grade. When I got home, I had the chicken pox! VERY memorable!

Have fun!

Maybe it's me, but my daughter rarely dances with me in here daddy/daughter dances. After a dance or two, she is off with her friends all dancing in a group, while the dads stand on the sidelines talking and wishing they had some rum to add to the punch.

I still wouldn't miss it for anything, though.

What is it with the Daddy-Daughter link, anyway? I can make or break my DD7's day (which when you're 7 means your heart) like flipping a switch. There's nothing I can't fix, and there's nothing I can't ruin. Amazing.
