Not much for me last week as I was still recovering from the hammy pull...lots of elliptical, lots of walking (with some short pieces of running mixed in).

Feeling much better this week and I think I've put the injury behind me. It took two weeks to heal - that was about what I expected.

I will slowly ramp the running back up this week, just easy runs, no speed until next week. Then I can hopefully get back on the training program.

Last week's 14 miler went well, and the tempo went kind of well. I ran tempo pace by feel, and it was slower than I'd like, but no worse than I should expect given my level of fitness. I ended up running 34ish miles rather than the 42 that the schedule called for.

Last week mr jebba spent many days out of commission with a virus. I am just now catching it, so I have no major goals for this week. Just keep running, is my only plan. I hope to be back to my regular schedule next week.

Hawk - glad that hammy is starting to come around.

Jebba - I hope whatever is going through your house leaves quickly and without too much of an impact.

Last week was a cut back week for me for Tough Mudder Wisconsin. That was a good thing too because it was crazy hot and humid here. Race day was no different - it was 75 degrees and 94% humidity at 6:00 am. Our race wave started at 9 and we finished just before noon (when it was close to 100 degrees). Holy cow was that race fun! And honestly much harder than I had expected. I've done mud runs before, but this race is not exaggerating when it dubs itself "Probably the Toughest Race on the Planet." I am 3 days out and still wicked sore from head to toe.

I was bummed I couldn't do the Capital Mile on Sunday, but my body was simply wrecked. The boys did it and both improved by over a minute from last year: DS#1: 6:19; DS#2: 7:24. Very cool.

This week I am building in more recovery than I initially anticipated, but next week I should be up to heavy miles again.

Cool stuff, runninlaw, your boy's times are awesome! You look much muddier than the other two :) No time to post stats, but my week was pretty much the usual stuff with 55-60 miles including an interval workout and a long run. So far so good this week.

Yeah, the boys are getting fast. We are running a 5K this weekend - cannot wait to see how DS#1 does. He has gotten a lot faster this year.

Me muddier? Yeah, unfortunately I went down (HARD) in the "Electroshock Therapy" obstacle and they did not. My kids desribe it as me falling and face planting in a muddy hay bale. Crazy stuff.
