Sorry to start the thread after being rather hit and miss, and doubly because I have no run under my belt yet today, but...
 
On the way to work in crowded downtown Concord I left only a small space between my car and the parked cars. This poor jogger who was politely running in the street so he didn't scare pedestrians barely had room to squeak by, so I got a good look at him.

9.5mi ez with a neighbor, and some of it with the meetup.com running group too.
72f this morning instead of 102f yesterday afternoon... i like morning running best.

Just did a little 2 miler with a few pick-ups before work to shake the legs out in prep for tomorrow's 25K. Wish I could do something similar for my brain this morning..... I'm always really fuzzy for a day after flying for some reason. Ribs..... you're always on the road... any suggestions? Caffeine's not cuttin' it.
 
I am forever grateful for all of you and your various taper stories over the last couple of years. Because of those stories, I didn't worry about the sore shin on Tuesday, or the achy hip on Wednesday, or the adducter I thought I pulled stepping off a curb yesterday. Was feeling just fine today. That, and my PT is pleased with the progress on my knee, especially with continuing to train. The swelling is gone and there's only a small amount of pain with some specific movements, but not with walking or running. S'all goot!

Since it looks like most of my weekend is going to be taken up by Duck football (early drive down in the morning on Saturday, late game, and getting home early Sunday morning), I am going to try and squeeze my long run in this evening. I think it will be a trail run since I need to get prepared for my pacing duties later this month for Dove. I wonder if I should practice drinking beer too...<img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;" title="">

These are the thoughts that come to me at zero-dark-thirty, after a fitful night's sleep of being woken to horrendously loud rain storms.... wondering how the heck I'm going to run 12+ miles today in all that wet....

Craig, I've been hit & miss too and wish I had more time to hang out here. Circuit workout this morning. The Y was ridiculously crowded, but I suspect people are getting that last workout in before heading to the big D (Dallas) for the football game. Paul, your team had quite a turnaround, huh? I hope to get to your report soon. I thought about you & your DW today when I heard a Jimmy Buffet song on a country station, one of the few songs on that station I like.

practice drinking beer? well, probably not, but maybe you should anyways. call it 'fine-tuning' .
leaving for company bowling tourney in about an hour. Last time I bowled was at last years tourney. this should be interesting.

Hi Pro! Did I look as terrible as I was feeling? You could have cut the humidity with a knife today. Between that and the apres-golf activity last night (I love business golf) I wasn't at my best this morning. 6 miles, 8:23 avg pace. Next time Craig, park that thang and join me.

34 mile bike ride in beautiful 84 degrees and sunny skies. Hope to ride 45 miles tomorrow and resume running Monday.

4 miles to no where and some core workout. I can't believe how pathetic my core is ( well, I guess not really since I haven't done any in eons ).

I had planned on doing the double 3-mile loops at the park (my "bow-tie" route) twice through for 12 miles today. But quite a bit of the park was flooded out, so I had to get creative without being overly repetitive to get the miles in. It was a long and wet slog, but I did it. This is my cutback long run, which I'll now be alternating with my progressively longer long runs every other week. Which means I'm on tap for 18 next week. God help me.

What be "pounted," Caigr? A "pounded" and "pointed" stew? I hate it when you use Spellcheck. 
I think you know, tomwhite, alternate pr and weights. It just seems right that you run on Sunday, then off to your second church.

So after my 2+ hour slog through the flooded park, I go to my car to get my phone (covered in a plastic bag to keep it from getting soaked, of course) and walk another mile back to the waterfall and first flooded out areas, in order to document my run. I always think to do this when I'm running, but by the time I'm done, I'm done, and all I want to do is go home. But no, I wasn't going to be a baby about it today, so off I go. Figures the first flooded out plain is now bone dry and passable! But I took pictures of it anyway, and ask that you all play pretend with me. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/cool.gif" title="">

Once around the lake this evening for 8.3 miles. I'm ready for the 10 mile race in the morning.

4.7 miles at lunchtime, overcast skies and 51° temps. About a perfect set of conditions for running, IMO. And nobody tried to run me over or hit me or anything. Nice.
 
Finalizing some plans and it looks like I'll be in Boston the end of the first week of November, traveling with DH to some meetings he has. I never do this, usually we're both going to work things and might meet up somewhere sometimes. This time, I'm cargo and really looking forward to it. Hope to see LaTortuga, Pro, Mike...? Oh, and DH found a marathon for me to run on the 7th in Manchester. The fun just never ends.

Yeah Erika, it IS nice when someone isn't trying to run you over. Seems like that should be the norm, but most times it appears to be the exception. 
12 trail-y miles at 7:52/mi. Running 12 on a Friday after work takes a whole lot more effort! It felt more like 18.

Hey folks....been a traveling fool this week and still have miles to fly tomorrow before I am home. After the Sunday marathon ---thanks for the kind words and props!----I started an airplane marathon and tour of hotel treadmills. Legs feeling better each day and the post race ache is pretty much gone. Just running easy this week.
4 miles this morning under the stars in Claremont, CA hot and humid though and wildly rare thunder and lightning all morning. Meanwhile 6.5 inches of rain in the rain gauge in just 36 hours back home in MA.

Hi all....no running today, thinking about taking a few more days off.
 
Will be off line for a week or so, wanted to wish ribs & breger good luck at TC & here's to Heme rockin her 25K.
 
CNY....my brother & his family live in Claremont, CA.....nice little town, the area around the colleges certainly doesn't fit in with the rest of LA

And let me also add that a few days off will be just fine. I took about 10 days off after Equinox and I'm so glad I did. I was facing burnout and just being fed up with running, and schedules, and mileage and the whole deal. Now I'm ready to go and feeling so much better about it.
