Put in about 29 miles on the Promise Land course on Saturday. Most of the day was running through low lying clouds. Visibility was pretty limited. At least it wasn't the t-storms the night before (which I spent in a tent in a field.) Saw Marc out there (at the beginning and end - he's too fast for me on the trail!) Met some new folks and had a great time on the run. Some photos: http://www.macluskie.com/reports/2011/promiseLandTrainingRun2011/

great job guys! not much for me. I had to take a class today, which i purposefully planned the weekend after Umstead knowing I would not be running much. I feel great though and am looking to diving right back to my training.

First trail race of the year!! Glacier Ridge 50K just outside Butler, PA. Course was outstanding and well marked. Could have used a couple more aid stations, but the volunteers were fantastic. Mud, mud and more mud made for a fun run. Intermittent winter training made for a hard final two hours but really enjoyed day. Would certainly recommend this race. For a first year event, they did a great job.

Good luck out there Jim! Looks like you have a good team/crew. If the family schedule permits I may stop by and say hi! I work about 2 miles from the course. I'd be running it if it weren't for a 50K the following weekend. I don't think I have the legs to run a 24 hour, then race a 50K. Maybe next year :)

Nice run ding0jimm! Low 9's sounds awfully fast to me! I was looking through some of the photos from this year and the ones of stepping stones over the/in the creek looked interesting. Was the water higher than normal this year or is it always like that?

Good job at BRR Jimmmm. I saw pictures and I know from when I ran it, i never got my feet wet in the water, so the water must have been higher or a course change. There were cement round things to step on if i remember correctly.

Nice running, everyone. :)

Finally getting over my hantavirus or whatever it was. Nearly 30 days of little to no useful running.. and Hardrock is looming large. Managed a nice 22 miler yesterday, with about 4000' of gain, up in the somewhat higher mountains. It's been a low snow year, so we can already run on snow-free trails up to nearly 10,000'. That's unheard of this time of year. Going to be a really really bad fire season (actually, it already has been).
