Sorry to hear about the fall, Meri...but glad to hear that it's "just" a bruise. Nevertheless, congrats on covering the 100k!!

Yes...the tree went up yesterday & today was our annual group -pre-Xmas run & brunch.

Ou organizer....Jackie....was fresh from San Fran & the North Face 50 miler...Ken was fresh from a work trip to Germany the day prior.

It was un-seasonally warm (50 degrees f), but the rain had been coming down all night. The rainfall was amplified by the higher elevation snow melt so the creeks were reaching the breaking point. There were a couple of dogs running with us & both had to be carried across one particular fast-flowing stream on Fromme Mountain (we're talking a husky & a large poodle here). 2 1/2 hours from Lynn Valley along the Baden Powell trail to grouse Mountain & down to Cleveland Dam (which was at bursting point), then down the Capilano Pacific trail to Park Royal for brunch. I had to skip on that, so I became the de facto doggie delivery service so that the mutts could rest at home while their owners dined in style.

Here's a lousy photo from my iPhone (it was very dark at 9 this morning.. The creek is usually a trickle & the higher tributary is non-existant...
