Has anyone ever swam laps in a hotel pool?
I have a couple of hours to myself tomorrow evening while DD has her interview with the campus police department.

Is it worth my time or should I just take a nap instead?

I've brought my stuff intending to swim laps at the hotel, does that count? In every case so far, I have found the pool to be far too short for anything even resembling a decent workout. I say bring your stuff, but bring a book and suntan lotion, too, just to be safe.

Nap. You don't want to be "that person" taking over the pool.

I generally look for lap pools in the area. Usually I find something and can pay like 5 bucks to swim. If you have a car.

DD will have the car so I'll be at the hotel. I'm not too worried about taking over this pool as school is currently out of session. Even when we are there for move-in weekend this pool is empty.

I guess I'll pack swim stuff and a book.

On a strange note, I can run the entire perimeter of the town and still not have enough miles for my long run on Sunday. That'll be kind of fun.

Hope you enjoyed your free time! I have swum laps in a hotel pool many times. Though if there are people in it , I tend to avoid. Usually work on techniques, flip turns, hypo- something rather training ( holding your breaths for certain lengths), etc. I'm with Scott and usually look for a place to swim, but sometimes it's not s option.
