OK, folks, I talked to Duckgeek a couple of nights ago. He has a whole crowd of KR/CR 30-somethings and also moms & dads gathering in Eugene. He suggested (when I twisted his arm really hard) that it would be "fun" if the Master Boomers could join the crowd.

Logistics are unfolding...here's how it goes...Duckgeek gets to organize everything! heehee, hi duckgeek... Remember, I am not the greatest organizer. Last year I lost Tetsujin!

1. (Sat night) pre-race dinner at Bepe & Giannis is out -- they are too small for even our group, let alone the 30-sths.

2. pre-race dinner proposed at River Ranch Steak House. Within easy walking distance of the Franklin Blvd hotels and also a quickie Emax (free!) ride from the Hilton. We are investigating whether they have PASTA or not.

3. Another dinner option is Mekala's, an excellent, higher-end Thai place. They have room for a larger group, too (but the River Ranch place is far larger). And they are right there on Franklin.

4. (Sun morning) Pre-race stretch/indoor bathrooms/hang out with pals & possibly drop bags is at my office hearth, 3 blocks from the start line.

5. duckgeek is looking into the possibility of having drop bags pick-uppable near the finish line at one of the athletic dept buildings (he has connections WAY up).

6. duckgeek's having a party afterwards! His house is near the starting line.

7. enk, you asked about how to get back to the hotels afterwards....it is about 2/3 mile walk from the finish line to the motels on Franklin. You walk across the river on the pedestrian bridge. I'll make a map -- it's straightforward. This is a bit of a hardship for the marathoners, so it might be helpful if some people could coordinate and have a helpful spouse there at the finish line to either walk or drive finishers to the motels to crash.

8. B&Bers are welcome to come eat pizza at my house later that evening (after we've had a chance to nap!). Hot tub, too.
